There’s a certain arrogance about Americans thinking they shouldn’t have to pay to secure their own imperial interests through NATO. It’s a bit like the UK building railways to export Indian resources out of the country and expecting Indians to pay for it and be grateful… like we did.

I hoped for a new left party but I’ve been less than impressed by the return of some old left bigotry. To me not letting ‘identity politics’ derail discussion means embracing people who are different, not excluding them. The Greens have had a clear position on this, so I joined them.
