..I believe that's his way of pronouncing your name.

...? (The figure feels vaguely familliar in a way that escapes him)
comment in response to post
I suppose it does. Though it's hard to make out entirely.

Randall, perhaps it isn't wise to get so close just yet...
comment in response to post
What lady would that be?
comment in response to post
If this were intentional you'd think we would've all forgotten ever seeing a cat in the first place.
comment in response to post
Anyhow, I find it much more likely if the strain on our collective memory were to be a side effect of our experiences some how, rather than an intentional manipulation of any kind.
comment in response to post
In... in part. Though it's not of much relevance to the point I'm trying to make.

It appeared to me twice. One of those times I remember only faintly because of how quickly I was losing consciousness, but I think... that cat went to get me help.
comment in response to post
That's what has been bothering me... the cat I saw was not a malicious one, in the slightest. It... saved my life.
comment in response to post
But for what purpose?
comment in response to post
Ah, I see.
comment in response to post
You.. know this man?
comment in response to post
Henry has also spoken with the cat in question? That's... quite odd. Despite the fact we all seem to come from different moments in time, all of us have met this cat..? How is that possible?
comment in response to post
...I think I may have spoken with this cat before, believe it or not.
comment in response to post
A talking cat, you say..? (For a brief second, he remembers the cat that was there in the hospital room when he woke up) What did this cat look like?
comment in response to post
I'm sorry if I may have scared you, my boy. I wasn't entirely myself.
comment in response to post
Did you, now? You have quite the gift. If it wasn't so tiny I'm sure I would mistake it for my own hat. (He gives the boy a weak, but genuine smile.)
comment in response to post
Oh! (He stares down at the tiny little chick in front of him.) My, what a sophisticated small bird you have there. I quite like his hat, myself.
comment in response to post
Birds..? I suppose so, but what does that have to do with...?
comment in response to post
... I.. I was recently.. I.... I thought they were just trying to intimidate me, I didn't think they'd— Forgive me, I'm not making any sense.
comment in response to post
Apologies. I don't know what came over me.. I never meant to... frighten you. Nor the young boy. (He could sink through the floor right about now. It was unbecoming of him.)
comment in response to post
Hh... it's.... it's brown, I think.. (His breathing slows itself gradually.)
comment in response to post
(The more he regains a bit of clarity, the more he feels ashamed. He hates being seen this way, and it makes his trembling take a spike for a hot second.) I... I'm sorry, I...
comment in response to post
(He tries to breathe like she is, hesitantly imitating the long inhales and exhales. The shaking lessens ever so slightly.)
comment in response to post
(He seems to hear that– there's eye contact at least.)
comment in response to post
(His hand is clutched at his neck like he's struggling to breathe— and there's a desperation to him you only ever see once in a lifetime.)
comment in response to post
(There's no response at all. He almost seems to look past her at something that isn't there.)
comment in response to post
(He seems... very distant all of a sudden. His eyes are a little out of focus.)
comment in response to post
(There's no response but the worsening of his breathing)
comment in response to post
(He silently begins to tremble)
comment in response to post
(He freezes in place. It's not Randall's fault but he's not had the best recent experiences with physical contact.)
comment in response to post
I can't believe it, all these years I thought you were... (Tears flow from his eyes before he can do anything about it.) I thought it was my fault. I felt your hand slip out of mine, I–
comment in response to post
Ah, so you were adopted by me in the future. That makes more sense, in all honesty. I suppose the answer to this riddle must then lie in your heritage, from the sound of it. Do you know anything about your biological parents?
comment in response to post
If that's true, then... how did you-?
comment in response to post
Is there any chance I could see it?
comment in response to post
I could ask you the same thing.
comment in response to post
I... (He sighs) I am.
comment in response to post
Randall, you're... but how..? I saw you fall, I thought you were–
comment in response to post
....Randall..? (His voice shakes)
comment in response to post
... That is very kind of you, but I don't think I feel at all ready to resume investigating that particular case quite yet. Let's focus on one thing at a time, for now. If you don't mind talking me through the facts so far, what were the circumstances of my own– your father's dissappearance?
comment in response to post
It's complicated to explain. And... unpleasant. I'm not surprised your father never brought it up. To put it bluntly, my last investigation angered some powerful influences. And thus an attempt was made to cut it short. ..That is the most I can tell you.
comment in response to post
No, no, there aren't. I'm... surprised, that's all. I haven't spoken to Clark in over half a year now. ...I doubt neither him nor Brenda even knows I was in a coma for a month. I'd like to keep it that way.
comment in response to post
I've met him as— are you referring to Luke TRITON?
comment in response to post
My... apprentice? This is news to me, I'm afraid.
comment in response to post
... I.. If you're certain.
comment in response to post
Luke?
comment in response to post
I turned 27 recently. If what you say is true, does that mean...? No. It's no use jumping to any conclusions.
comment in response to post
Hectic is... certainly a way to describe it. ... If you wish, I could help you search for your father. I don't know much about my future self, but if he is anything like me.. I think I might be of help. Besides, it... would be nice to have something to set my mind to.
comment in response to post
..!!? What did you just say? There's.. a version of Randall of the age of 37?
