“Women are more empathetic and thus less rational. Therefore they are not suited for the office of elder. Like Job’s wife.” (Summary of JRig.) *Men watching M*hler’s interview with R*gney and sagely nodding along*

Bluesky made it so difficult to get in that I got disgusted and gave up. But now I'm back, with news of my new book. It's about the power of preaching, and it's called *By The Word Worked*--a takeoff on the doctrine of "Ex opere operandi," by the work worked (as in baptism and the eucharist)

Mood for the foreseeable future.

Someone: But the so called “bishop” didn’t clearly explain the gospel from the pulpit to a non-Christian president when she had the chance to. Shame! Me: Her role in that moment was to pray for unity during the prayer service. 🤷‍♀️

Pin this, save it, we’ll need it. “When a prison camp opens in your town…when a DREAMer is disappeared from your classroom…when the President destroys what’s left of the Constitution…They will all say they didn’t know this was coming. And I want the American people to know that they did.” AOC 🔥🎯

It’s clear many have never heard the prophetic word spoken by a woman - I recommend some supplementary reading - the words ascribed to Hannah and Mary. Be blessed.

Jailed for 1000 days for damaging property - ridiculous, right?! Psst - don’t forget to add the bit where they stormed the Capitol with the intent to stop the peaceful transfer of power. Go ahead. Tell them that bit.

Scripture is clear. Women are elders in the NT church. Treat them as mothers. Mothers and Fathers work and make decisions together to help nourish and equip the family in the service of God. 1 Tim 5 and Titus 2

Miss14 successfully inducted into the 1995 Pride and Prejudice fan club. HELP: We need fanfic on Mary Bennet. What became of her?

I can’t wait!!!

Australian Presbyterians are considering a proposal that includes many recommendations in which they can improve how women are heard and equipped and included in the church. One suggestion is to elect a group of women to advise the elders (all male). 1/

Beware of creating a rule out of normal. God often acts outside the realm of normal. Don’t get in his way because of a rule you created.

In my experience there is a yearning among some for a Perspecuity of scripture in ALL things rather than all things pertaining to salvation.

Me: What’s the difference between sacrificial love and the Pauline notion of submission? Him: Men were made by God from creation to carry the responsibility-and-initiative (authority) in their loving service.

Him: Scripture is clear women should not preach nor be elders. Me: There is no clear Scripture that bans women from preaching nor being elders. in fact not so clear.

Please tell your kids, every damn day if necessary, that chatGPT is not a goddamn search engine and you shouldn’t believe a word it says. Tell the adults too, but it’s especially imperative to inoculate kids against this

Him: Men are to have authority over their wives like Christ. Me: Men are to be united to their wives in love and service. Which is it? Vases or Faces? H/t: @larktheosis.bsky.social

Presentation pet peeves - the 15 minute intro trying to convince me that I should be in the room and listen to the content - AAAGH!!! I’m already in the room. GIVE ME THE CONTENT!!! Same with sermons.

“Dear brother Kevin, for your own sake, for women’s sake, for men’s sake, for the Lord’s sake, please take off the spectacles and look again.” terranwilliams.com/review-of-ke...

Someone: Paul says the OT law upholds the concept that it is not ideal when women lead. Me: No he doesn’t. S: 1 Cor 14:33-35 Me: Yeh, there’s no OT law that regulates the speech of women in public. There WERE Greco-Roman ideals of how women should behave in public.
