Mum’s music player on her computer was playing Harry Belafonte’s version of Abraham, Martin & John when I went past it just now. It had got to asking where his old friend Bobby was, and all I can say is that no one’s ever going to write about his son in a song like that.

The boys want to be fed. Jasper is fed in the laundry. So if you’re doing something in the laundry around 5 pm, woe betide you. Human should feed dog, not put those things you have instead of fur in that noisy machine.

Sitting on a chair out on the back verandah. Looking through the gap between the shed at the back fence & the garage of the house behind. Looking up over a roof several doors down the adjacent street, and past the electricity cables running along the street parallel. Misty rain is fuzzing the view.

The shrubs that are slowly forming a hedge against the side fence were trimmed recently, but one bit seems to have escaped the clippers. It is waving in the wind in a similar fashion to one of those inflatable people with wavy arms.

@katwhen.bsky.social might be pleased to know that Cuckmere Haven has just been referred to in a Michael Gilbert novel I’m just about to start reading. At least I remember the pronunciation. Although I’d hate to sound the Featherstonehaugh alarm too often, in case Kat got bored by being my expert.

Have just given someone from a call centre an earful. Mum missed a call on her mobile, & thinking it might be important rang back. First thing she heard was something about transferring her to the next available agent. She handed the phone to me, so I missed the beginning of the spiel.

Better news from the vet clinic this morning. In its own way, given what it is. Jasper’s whimpering is not from pain but from anxiety. Poor boy is so old at 15 and a half that a degree of senility is kicking in, & it’s making him anxious. He doesn’t quite understand what’s going on any longer.
