And it’s such good evidence of who is allowed to do violence that once that was revealed, they simply moved beyond it.

It should not be lost on anyone that Minnesota Rep Melissa Hortman, who was shot to death in her home last night by an assassin, was a gun safety advocate who worked tirelessly to protect her constituents from gun violence.

Walz announces that Rep. Melissa Hortman is dead as a result of a "politically motivated assassination"

Remember when hen Republicans bullied DHS under Obama to bury a report about the growth of right-wing terrorist groups? Or how just earlier this year the FBI and DHS cut funding to efforts to track and prevent domestic terrorism? Political assassinations and attempts are the result.

Chicago congresswoman @repdeliaramirez hands Kristi Noem a letter of resignation and encourages her to use it 👀

what was her reaction?

this statement was made just yesterday

It is difficult to imagine any circumstances in which the assassination of one democratic lawmaker and the attempted assassination of another is not fascist violence, calculated to suppress political resistance to a fascist project. At this point I am not going to try.

He’s now tied with Fetterman for second most votes with Trump Shaheen: 70 Fetterman and Warner: 69 Hassan: 68 Slotkin: 65 Rosen: 61 Gallego: 60 docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Doing the bidding of corrupt mega donors and saying it’s for the youths

There's a cottage industry churning out articles about left-leaning "bubbles" and "echo chambers" but very little written about how numerous members of Congress live in a bubble of nonsense peddled by lobbyists and consultants. I have no doubt he was told this by a 20-something crypto lobbyist.

All while the FBI and federal law enforcement curtail their efforts to surveil and prevent right-wing violence.

DIRECT

and the way the House Speaker took to a presser to greenlight violence against his political opponents

What happened in Minnesota is a direct consequence of the violent way that Trump talks about his political opponents.

*very “relentlessly on message Kraft surrogate unaware that the Pride Parade is happening today” voice* The traffic standstill on Dartmouth and Tremont is a result of the bike lanes.

Whatever decision you made today, it’s probably not as bad as that of people who thought they could successfully drive on Dartmouth St the day of the Pride Parade.

Oh this is truly inspired. Bravo.

assassins dressing like cops while ICE goes in plainclothes

Per WSJ, U.S. negotiations with Iran were actually a cover to buy time for Israel's attack. Would you ever enter into negotiations with the U.S. knowing this?

Cuomo literally made up a story about a thing that never happened last night, to prove that he can stand up to Trump, and as far as I can tell nobody blinked an eye or even noticed

federal immigration agent arrived at World Cup party attended by Miami-Dade County’s mayor, who is calling the incident “deeply troubling” and a potential warning sign that international soccer fans won’t feel safe traveling to Miami next year for World Cup www.miamiherald.com/news/local/c...

What the fuck?!

The greatest con Trump ever pulled was convincing millions of rubes that he cares about them.

Yes that’s who you think it is youtu.be/DZ1OblYm5YY?...

At some point we gotta start arrest ICE agents for kidnapping

Morning Bluesky. Iran has warned the UK and France that if there is any interception of missiles meant for Israel their bases will be attacked.

[youth pastor voice]: ya know, there was another Carpenter who was mans best friend

anyone who works for ICE is a bad person imagine clocking in at the child traumatization factory every morning and thinking that’s an acceptable thing to do as a human being just unconscionable

So this is definitely a result of DOGE or Vought saying that "DOE" should repeal that rule and then minions not understanding which "DOE," right? Because there is a whole shocking layer of stupidity layered on the bigotry and bullying. thehill.com/homenews/lgb...

One of the best ways for cops to reduce crime is to stop committing it.

Impersonating law enforcement just requires wearing a balaclava, some tacticool, and maybe but not necessarily an ICE patch

as per the MN crime account, there have been shootings at a state senator‘s house in champlin and a state rep’s in brooklyn park. suspect is apparently impersonating law enforcement and still on the loose, info on him - x.com/mn_crime/sta...

The "appeal" of Trumpism is so bizarre. Even if you're "not political," if you don't get off on cruelty, then what's in it for anybody? "Big business scams me more because there's no regulation and my local universities & hospitals & transit are going broke and my stonks keep going wiggy." Yay?

Trump administration pulls US out of agreement to help restore salmon in the Columbia River apnews.com/article/colu...

The right wing has settled on the term "showboating" to dismiss Padilla's right -- a Senator!!! -- to ask questions of a Cabinet Secretary who has been dodging his requests. The new code for uppity brown man.

Tambourines. Trumpets. "Blasting horns so the little fuckers had a terrible sleep.” Demonstrators outside LA-area hotels—where ICE agents are believed to be sleeping—are employing creative methods to keep those agents awake. @annamerlan.bsky.social writes on "No sleep for ICE."

The donors don't want their workforce deported. But you'll be subject to deportation if you quit your job or join a union or try to bargain for better wages or complain about sexual harassment.

One of my many fears is that the next Democratic president will spend too much time talking about "the importance of not dwelling on the past" instead of prosecuting every single one of the people responsible for this nightmare.

In my opinion, Trump's shift on this issue ("stop raiding farms and hotels") demonstrates the US needs to have an honest conversation about the role of undocumented immigrants in this country. And who constitutes this population. I'm afraid the rhetoric has already poisoned the well.
