When the leader denounces the sober assessments *of his own* intelligence community you are sooo far down the road to capricious, untethered authoritarianism.

Yes, if you provide alternatives to current transport modes, and help reduce the need to travel, it certainly does. Check out Paris. The city is transformed. Incidentally, when you "close" a road to cars, you open it to human beings.

If you are not concerned by the proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation because you think it doesn’t impact you, you are wrong. This is an authoritarian abuse of power by the government & it curtails all of our civil liberties #r4today

This. Boiling frogs, all of us. Step by step…

Tomorrow is #danielhannanday - join me in celebrating the great British virtues of Absurd deference to public schoolboys Being completely wrong but blaming eveyone else Rewarding failure by elevating people to the Lords with a £75k pa expense allowance. Pl repost www.reaction.life/p/britain-lo...

AOC: “It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”

When your cat's a master of disguise.

And just like that, the ‘No New Wars’ people are all-in on a new war. Proving yet again that they really believe in nothing other than what one man tells them to believe today. Which could be different tomorrow. The very definition of a cult.

Another issue…

I don't think we're in a democracy anymore. Unmarked secret police kidnapping people off the street? A dictator mobilizing the military against civilians? Defying court orders? Ignoring due process? Arresting political opponents? Democracy has left the building. We CAN & MUST get it back, though.

The idea that we can "easily" overthrow the regime in Iran is a fantasy of people that have never served. Afghanistan is back in the hands of the Taliban after 20 years of slaughter. Iraq still isn't peaceful. Libya is a war zone that's been in civil war since we dropped bombs. History is screaming!

🤣 This is amazing… we accidentally published the wrong photo, oh and it might all be 🐂💩.

Like students remember better when they hand-write notes of a lecture on paper than if they type on a keyboard. Common sense?

Extreme weather has extreme consequences for the viability of entire communities. I looked at this a couple of years ago in the bbc doc Uninsurable Planet

I signed the final bills Melissa Hortman shepherded through the most narrowly divided legislature in the county. All of them bipartisan. We debated, we found common ground, and we compromised. That’s how democracy should function.

I rarely offer gardening tips but my neighbour said using three clothes pegs to attach the cable from the hedgetrimmer to my shirt is genius. Doesn't everyone do this?
