Universal and indivisible. By definition, human rights apply to everyone at all times.

We can all see 'the pressure that Trump has put on Ukraine to end the war', and it is horrendous and relentless. Can anyone show me any pressure that he has (actually) applied to Putin to get him to negotiate a peace deal? In the absence of such pressure what makes him any sort of peace broker?

Turns out Trump has no plan at all for Ukraine besides abandonment, extortion, and surrender. Which is what the Kremlin wants, and has pursued: the destruction of Ukraine as a sovereign state. Ukrainian freedom is at stake. It is horrific, yet not surprising. We will just have to keep screaming.

Russia, not Ukraine, is the obstacle to peace. This is evident in the data. Russia has intensified its drone/missile strike campaign against Ukraine after President Trump was inaugurated. Ukraine has offered many concessions to start peace processes. Russia has offered zero.

I agree with @peterjukes.bsky.social. Coincidence or coordination? The more these things happen, the more it feels very much like the former.

This thing about boys not being listened to, not being talked to; good grief. There are plenty of people talking to boys: a major problem is that huge media platforms and algorithms are force-feeding impressionable boys the promise of sexual dominance. Let’s at least acknowledge that, please.

There are sound and principled reasons, entirely within the bounds of liberal democratic theory, for why they aren't holding elections. But it is extremely obvious if they did, Zelenesky would be re-elected in a landslide.

Tucson. This stuff is only getting worse, not better. The dems *cannot* yield on gender identity and expression as *freedom*

Please read this thread and show it to any pals who are worried about measles vaccines

It’s becoming clearer by the day that to both Putin and Trump “peace” and “getting it settled” means nothing else than destroying and conquering Ukraine.

Surely national rules about what physician associate’s can & can’t do, standard guidance on supervision & an agreed process for patients to give consent should be a given - it goes to the very heart of patient safety

Trump has no clue what he’s saying at any moment and is literally and constantly just responding to anything that happens with what he’s feeling at the moment — and yet this is what we, and the world, have to deal with right now. This is really not sustainable.

US technology, provided by private companies, just ceased to be reliable

How much US taxpayer's money has now been wasted by Space X?

if you’re having girl problems i feel bad for you son, i got 99 problems and they’re all luftballons

This is every bit as insulting as JD Vance's comments earlier this week. Trump looks increasingly like an unreliable ally, and the Government urgently needs a plan B.

Lol

Given the new US administration maintains that tariffs would greatly enrich the domestic population, it seems wantonly cruel for them constantly to dangle their implementation in front of an eager electorate only to whip them away again. It's almost like they realise, deep down, that they're bad.

I’ve really had enough of these takes that it’s been unfair that Europe has outsourced its defence to the US. First of all, the US needed both the bases in Europe and European political and military backing for its global war on terror and the wars in the Middle East. It was never pure charity.

Today, the House GOP censured me for speaking out for the American people against @POTUS’s plan to cut Medicaid. I accept the consequences of my actions, but I refuse to stay silent in the face of injustice. #WeShallOvercome x.com/repalgreen/s...

This is all water under the bridge at this point. It's obvious the NATO assurance is over under Trump. These comments no longer have the shock value they did a few weeks ago.

This type of American treachery is also why any minerals deal would be deeply suspect. Which Americans involved ? How to keep the Russians out of the ownership structures and supply chain. Also scope for dubious Russian linked Ukrainian oligarchs in it. bsky.app/profile/prof...

The disastrous meeting between Trump and Zelensky at the White House last week is just a pretext to do what was already planned: cut off military aid to Ukraine and suspend intelligence-sharing. This looks like an incredibly cruel, wicked revenge against a country that did nothing but defend itself

The absolute best thing the UK can do right now would be to offer asylum to these people.

There's no end to it, is there. Every day, every hour, another concerted effort to sabotage and sacrifice Ukraine. The idea that Trump might offer something even approximating an acceptable peace is increasingly impossible to maintain.

Trump also plans to revoke temporary protected status for some other groups. For Ukrainians, EU temporary protection lasts until March 2026, with the position after that point not yet clear. Here's a thought: could Ukrainians kicked out of the US by Trump be covered by the EU scheme?

“Those nasty Canadians are ripping us off and are controlled by Mexican cartels. They’re poisoning us with fentanyl and need to become the 51st state or they will pay a high price” is a belief that literally ZERO Americans had six weeks ago. It’s entirely invented from scratch.

Every single person in all three branches of government who swore an oath to country & Constitution knows this. A full-scale failure of the entire Constitutional order. Unprecedented in 🇺🇸 history.

Remember: Musk is a coward at heart. A weak man, not a strong one. A fragile ego just like the guy he shares an office with.

This is an acute observation. When a senior lawyer suddenly walks away from either an ongoing case or a secure job, that is often the greatest of legal red flags. Something big has happened.

A whole ass Supreme Court judge, pretending he's never heard of a contract before

So, Trump's brilliant plan for "peace" was to cut off Ukraine’s air defenses so Russians could pour ballistic missiles onto the people of Ukraine until the daily massacres force the survivors to yield to Putin's demands. The Great Dealmaker is merely Putin's whore.
