I really need everyone to stop thinking in terms of laws and procedures and start thinking in terms of power and balance of forces. Like, yes, they intend to instruct the military to repress the people. They always did. The moves they're making are increasing the likelihood of army refusal

A friend showed up for a local mutual aid event, in person, even though they were terrified and uncomfortable. By the time it was done, they felt more connected, capable and excited. It's scary at first, but he didn't let that stop him. That's the kind of resolve that keeps me going. 💚🤎

In my town of +90k, my mayor had open office hours. I waited my turn, politely asked questions on city housing resources and Alternative Response Unit, then followed the answers and compared what the mayor said with those getting their hands dirty. I learned a lot, very quickly, about where I live.

A dead body was found this morning near our weekly unhoused solidarity drive / food outreach. A reminder that >10% of the unhoused in town are dying every year due to preventable causes, even under Biden. We. Are. Living. In. A. War. Do not forget the vulnerable when discussing political action.
