That looks amazing!
My favorite approach to trash cuts is to simmer them in a sauce until they're super tender and put them on tacos

That 100% tracks - also, I think it's easy to underestimate how much costs can overrun original estimates in basically any creative project to begin with!

Watching the video where y'all broke down your costs I was amazed at how far you'd been able to stretch your budget. Seeing $2M after fees and backer commitments, I would've guessed "oh yeah, that's enough for like 2 episodes, tops"

[squinting at data] Uh... my focus tests say that... every game should be more like Call of Duty?

Realizing I just wrote "NYC is fucking awesome" instead of "NYC subway is fucking awesome" but y'know what I stand by both statements

You know what, you're 100% right - if they're going to use the hallucination machine I'd prefer that they're honest about it

I really hate seeing the prevalence of "I asked chatGPT about this" now - it feels like folks are just letting their ability to do basic research completely atrophy

"I only listen to *real* music" and then they name the most racist artist to ever exist

Be careful, because the setting *will* revert from time-to-time.

Another fav:
-Pickled jalapeno
-Onion rings
-This sauce: www.lifesatomato.com/2019/08/07/a...
-Lettuce
-Some beef bacon

My personal fave is nice and simple:
-Ketchup (or spicy BBQ sauce)
-Raw sweet onion
-Lettuce
-Slice of tomato
-Little mayo on the bread
-Toasted sesame seed bun
Get that meat nice and seared on a hot cast iron pan and the simple flavors balance each other so nicely

Really helps to toast your bun a little. And think about what flavor profile you're looking for going in - you want to balance the fattiness, creaminess (from cheese or egg), spice, and vinegar tang-

(I don't eat cheese on mine, but do that right at the end)
Then it's mostly sauce and fixings. If you have a lot of creamy stuff (including stuff like egg), balance it with something with some bite - pickled jalapenos, pickles, onions, a nice spicy mustard-

Season the meat with a decent amount of salt, freshly ground black pepper, and some garlic powder. Don't try to overdo the burger patty seasoning.
Use cast iron and get it hot - like hot enough to start smoking. Cook the burger and press it down so you get a good crust on either side-

No, I have no idea who made that originally (it's from a tumblr without a lot of identifying info on it) - I just painstakingly researched and recreated the fonts and design in Photoshop

so not, like, predicting specific crimes but more like "this area has historically had murders under these conditions, so it is likely it will have murders"
Also it was designed to model/measure policing bias, which is a very interesting thing to leave off the headline

To be fair, if you'd described that to me I would've been like "yeah, I feel like there's definitely a solid audience for this" but also that's why I'm not a money guy (gal? Is "money guy" gender-neutral in this context?)

Back when I was first working in Manhattan in like 2006 I was crossing the street and got run into by a bike courier going the wrong way, who then proceeded to cuss *me* out for daring to get in his way
I fucking love this city though

Weirdly enough, I know of at least two other Jonaya's - one of whom followed me on Twitter just because we shared a first name - but they all seem pretty chill so I don't want to throw any of them under the bus like that
