The "deal" he proposes is the betrayal. He gets all of Ukraine's resources, except the bits he gives to russia.
comment in response to post
No, trump's plan gives a fair chunk of Ukraine to putin, and trump takes the rest. That's a good deal! For trump. Not so much for Ukraine.
comment in response to post
This makes sense once you realize that trump just wants as much as possible of Ukraine's riches for himself, and don't actually care at all about the Ukrainian people. For him, this is just a matter of how much of Ukraine he has to give to russia, so that he can take the rest.

Safe, sane and consensual drug fueled sex tornadoes.

He doesn't have any leverage over russia, so he bullies Ukraine and the EU instead.

Makes you wonder what else they cancelled, because the average contract should be for $1.5M, but there's only one of those ten that are over $1M.
comment in response to post
Have they actually said that's why they cancelled it though? Not all the contracts on that list are DEI related, like the Neighborhood Electric Vehicle Utility Van, whatever that is. But then again, electric vehicles are apparently evil and woke, unless they are made by musk...

So, in this case it's more like the difference between me seeing a photo of your daughter, and the two of us going on a drug fueled sex tornado through all the sleaziest brothels in Saigon...

In the immortal words of @xkcd.com The difference between a million and a billion is the difference between me having a sip of wine and 30 seconds with your daughter, and a bottle of gin and a night with her. xkcd.com/558/

If anyone was wondering, it seems the USDA has a budget of around $213 billion this year. While 213 billion and 11 thousand can seem like relevant numbers next to each other, you could try putting it like 213000000000 and 11000 to get a proper sense of how meaningless that brag was.

"if he's fighting for us" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

The whole point of the independent regulatory agencies is that they are, shockingly, independent from the president. But of course, you can't have that if you want to establish absolute control of a country.

It's gonna be a while before they reach Lisbon.

This is how you negotiate with russia. Hurt them until they come to you, begging you to stop.

Ernst Röhm was a close friend and ally of Hitler. He was also a homosexual, and the leader of the Sturmabteilung, the SA. Hitler had him murdered in 1934, as he was becoming too much of a political liability.

Shockingly, it is included in the prices shown in the stores, so you don't have to mentally add that to figure out what you will actually have to pay.

The weird Capitalization kinda makes it look like he did.

Classic sociopath, if you've ever had the misfortune to be around one of them. Constantly spreading chaos around them, trying to drag everyone down, always pretending to be the real victim.

Ok, they can have Kursk back as soon as they get the fuck out of Krym, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk.

Instead, we'll have musk casually exposing government employees that don't obey him.
comment in response to post
We could also not do that, since the US (at least under trump) shouldn't be relied upon for anything.

Two of them accidentally catching fire at the same time? That's really unlucky.

You seem to forget that this agency is run by a guy who became really rich by building spaceships for government money. WHOOOSH!!! 🚀 Your argument is invalid!

On Thursday, the WHCA, which represents the press corps, said the action against the AP “is a textbook violation of not only the First Amendment, but the president’s own executive order on freedom of speech and ending federal censorship.” edition.cnn.com/2025/02/14/m...

Hitler wasn't born in the country he took control of. Hitler freed all Nazis who had been imprisoned for political violence. The Conservatives thought they could control Hitler and prevent him from becoming a dictator. The Jews thought they would be protected by the constitution.

Because musk is a fragile snowflake.

We should move the people who live there to some better place where there are nice homes built, and then we can rebuild it and turn it into a Las Vegas of eastern Europe. -- trump in two weeks, probably

Something to think about on days when it feels meaningless to get out of bed and go to work.
comment in response to post
How about we focus on the "It is unclear whether Mr. Trump has the power to do this." part instead? Because it seems pretty clear that he doesn't, which goes for a whole lot of things he has been doing lately.

Makes you wonder if the Swedish investigation concluding that the Vezhen cable sabotage was an "accident" will be followed up by "We clearly can't have ships that are so poorly maintained and crewed in our waters. All uninsured ships will now need to pass a safety inspection before entering."

I thought he was going to build really nice homes for them? Somewhere vaguely else. Should be easy, there's just two million people living in Gaza.

The shooter didn't have any criminal connections, but considering he killed ten people, I wouldn't exactly call him law-abiding either. The gangs and their access to weapons is a separate issue from this, and needs to be handled in other ways.

So he's saying Ukraine will be admitted to NATO? Because guess what, otherwise we don't get to tell Ukraine what kinds of weapons they build.

From what I get from the texts, he was an amazing dad, who held some asshole beliefs, that he changed because he's an amazing dad. Consider that the son knows full well what his dad's beliefs are, and comes out to him anyway, expecting the response to be "I love you.", and he was exactly right.

However, that being said, as a Ukrainian, I have a couple of questions for RFK Jr.: Who, exactly, by the end of 2013, forced the "neutral, democratic government" of Viktor Yanukovych to push Ukraine into nationwide mass protests and armed clashes in central Kyiv?

It's also that there's just so much different shit going down that it's hard to keep track. Which of course is the whole idea.
