Highly recommend this excellent @jonmsweeney.bsky.social interview—should be read by all religious celebrities / influencers too.

It can be difficult to concentrate during pre-dawn reading.

I interviewed Ronald Rolheiser on the subject of celebrities in the Church. Here it is. www.focolaremedia.com/magazine/con...

76 years ago right now, this amazing autobiography was new in bookstores, outselling every other nonfiction title. To people disillusioned with the world, it sold 600,000 hardcover copies in the first 12 months. #thomasmerton

Got my 13 year-old a debit card, to begin learning budgeting and spending, etc. We took it today to our local bookstore, @boswellbooks.bsky.social, where she made her first purchase. A family tradition. In 1985, at 18, the first purchase I made on my first credit card was a book at a bookstore.

Someone proofread this, please.

Love this …..

First, excellent review by A.N. Wilson of Pontifex's new "autobiography" in @thetls.bsky.social. Second, sometimes you read of a stunning mistake such as this and think, thank God, as an editor, I didn't make it.

Our best guess of what St. Francis of Assisi really looked like--is in this medieval fresco from Sacro Speco, Subiaco.

Stopped at Whole Foods to get a few things, walking behind Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers, and his wife. That man’s knees are obviously shot!

Hey friends, after 8 good years in Milwaukee, this summer we're moving back to the Green Mountain State. Just finished making those plans yesterday. See thumbtack for specific location (a new part of the state for us). #Vermont #newadventures

Just got a call from a CNN producer who is putting together a list of people they may call on if Pope Francis dies. I said, “I’m very sad to get this call!”

I had beets on my pizza this afternoon in Vermont.

This photo, taken 13 years ago today, popped up on my Facebook feed this morning. That's my friend Jennifer Grant standing with us. So I decided to wear that same old sweater today. I'm really cheap.
