thanks! i'm happy to share. [i seem to be a classic tweak; if i want something and i don't find it, i usually try to make it. i often end up exploring the territory, partly out of "'satiable curtiosity", and partly from ADHD. inks; shaping pen nibs; translucent porcelain; fluorescent glazes....]

good question. not yet. (until i came up with this mix i had only used mica flakes of typical size. i sought these out to change the character of the shimmer. the result is nice enough that i haven't been tempted to tweak it.)

quick addition: i wrote that with a 2.4mm Pilot Parallel Pen. Parallel Pens are easy to unclog, which is helpful with the larger mica flakes.

it's roughly half and half Vinta 'Blue Blood' and Diamine 'Holly', to which i added a fair amount of Firedots '1848 Gold' mica flakes. a word of caution: 1848 Gold flakes are a lot larger than what is usually used for shimmer. i'd use smaller flakes if you want to put the ink in a regular pen.

sociopaths (psychopaths?) of a feather stick together? (i think you're right, a bunch of them do want us dead.)

i met Sabri a bunch of years ago, i think at Hinckley Pottery in DC. not sure he'd remember me. great to see him doing cool work now (!).

for some reason, i doubt that what you'd put in a newsletter would be uninteresting _or_ twaddle.

_not_ to vote for someone else?

i am no use to you; i like all of those, and a couple dozen others as well. perhaps worse, i'm not averse to mixing. whatever you end up with, i hope and trust it will be pleasant.

something strange here. i get an unending roller instead of a photo, and the Alt text is "a woman with gray hair is sitting in and blinking" any ideas?
comment in response to post
there are at least two silly jokes here. i think i shall leave them to the reader as a voluntary exercise, and just say that it looks very pleasant.

following; would like to know. (possible workaround: can you put the audio file on a webserver and publish a link to it?)

bleah (!). hope this resolves soon and well.

wait -- isn't life itself anti-entropic?

aaghghhh! what you said.
comment in response to post
argh! at least you have progress.

ouch! not the goodness.

as you say. (it worked for me, btw; may have saved my life.)

inside, i'm screaming a lot of the time. (i am medicated; it's more effective against some issues than others.) a while back i decided that i want a support organization called Victims of Executive Dysfunction, VoED, pronounced 'void'. just don't ask me to start it. sorry i can't be more helpful.

perhaps important to note that if methylphenidate doesn't calm or focus you, that's not diagnostic; there are some people it doesn't work for.

hugs if and as acceptable.

although i am not a digital artist, this seems to me to be good advice. (for one thing, at the end of the day one is not required by law to keep any results that are truly satisfactory.) {i do calligraphy, in ink. i can't undo and usually i can't repair, so i typically have to toss errors.}

you are so lucky! congrats!

ps: i've been doing this for more than 50 years. took me a while to get used to it.

sometimes i rest my hand on a piece of slightly absorbent paper. (my hand position is not a hook, so i don't know how relevant i am to your situation.)

i confess that i would probably have started by firmly affixing a treat to the floor of the basket, and letting Ghost put herself in. granted, there's no guarantee it would have worked, but 'nothing ventured, nothing gained'.

didn't realize i wasn't already following you. argh. hope and trust that the follow is okay.

argh! hope you improve swiftly and escape soon!

what you said; the original hard-paste stuff was clearly miserable. it's possible to do a little better now, but it takes some finesse. (i use commercial throwing porcelain, but that's actually what the French used to refer to as grès -- white ungrogged stoneware, not really porcelain.)

y'know, there are no artificial flavors or colors in french fries, and no significant protein in Smarties. just saying.

it opens with him walking away from Louis Barall & Son Men's Clothiers, a place my father took me to on several occasions. it grabbed me right there, and didn't let go.

btw: one of my inspirations was J. Herbin 1670 'Emeraude de Chivor'. it's very pleasant, though in actual use not quite as extreme as some of the photos on the web.

glad you like it. i expect that this or similar should be fine with dip pens. that isn't the voice of experience, though, so if/when you try it, please report on the results. one suggestion/request: please use mica flakes rather than plastic.
comment in response to post
argh. hope it's an easy one.
comment in response to post
i should note that i bet it would work with regular size mica flakes, and it would be less likely to clog the pen.
comment in response to post
it's roughly equal parts of Vinta 'Blue Blood' and Diamine 'Holly' (both chosen for sheen), to which i added some Firedots '1848 Gold' mica flakes. the caution here is that the mica particles are larger than the ones in most shimmering inks, so i wouldn't use this mix in any ordinary pen.

etymonline notes relation to dromedary. thought you might like that.

here's an example, in case mild temptation is in order. (apologies for the grayish background; i tried to adjust it, but was not entirely successful.)
comment in response to post
i only run shimmer ink through Pilot Parallel Pens, because they are easy to unclog. perhaps you need a couple of those as well.
comment in response to post
i don't know anything about the movie; i am, though, tempted to respond to your comment with "There are oysters at the bottom of the ocean."

apologies, and continuation of Alt text: hand written in a blue-green ink with golden sparkles, using a pen with a wide nib.

they won't all germinate, right? maybe you have friends who didn't or won't get theirs started?

i escaped that problem by learning calligraphy -- after a while, it changed my handwriting. (obviously not a good choice for everyone, though.)
