No one will ever believe you if you tell them you’re bound by norms or the senate or donors or whatever after this. With some caveats, they can just do good things that help people and not pretend that their fealty to donors is some intractable political barrier.

I think we’re seeing the limits of an elite-led policy development process that alienated huge swaths of their base. No one to fight for it because there are so few direct beneficiaries.
