It's so that it'll stay visible even if you delete your post. Which is to say, it's massively adversarial. Reasonable towards bigotry and such, here it seems a bit too far to me.

19. Domkraft - The Brush Descends The Length
Magnificent example of less is more. Extremely simple but it hits like a truck. Didn't know it was a cover until I looked it up just now!

18. Primitive Man - My Will
Super heavy goopy sludgy stuff. The vocal performances are among the best harsh vocals I've heard. They have such force and depth, yet absolutely astounding clarity.

Ärligt talat inte konstigt att folk inte fattar skillnad på genomsnitt och median när medier konstant formulerar det som om ett genomsnitt vore en median.

17. Yawning Man - Tumbleweeds in the Snow (Live at Giant Rock)
Obviously the progenitors of desert rock are gonna be kinda good, but I was seriously blown away by Mario Lalli's bass playing and timbre in this song. Perfectly balanced in all aspects.

16. Thou & Emma Ruth Rundle - The Valley
Banger. Banger. Banger. A song of amazing contrasts. The first half to the second. The harsh vocals to the clean.

15. King Woman - Hierophant
An amazing musical expression of obsessive love. It's really beautiful yet haunting.

14. SubRosa - The Usher
SubRosa are my favourite band of all time. Listening to them is is like listening to an old school fairy-tale meant to scare children. They're not very riff-focused, but I think that speaks to a strength in their ability to craft atmosphere.

13. Melvins - Honey Bucket
Houdini is to me asking the rhetorical question, what if Metallica was thoroughly good? The riffs in this song are so good and so tight. The timbre is so crunchy. And the bass is audible.

12. Kero Kero Bonito - The Princess and the Clock
Unreasonably good song. There is no aspect of music that KKB doesn't execute perfectly. Catchy, great hooks, amazing synth design, groovy feeling, beautiful vocals, interesting musical choices, expressive melodies.

11. Bell Witch - Rows of Endless Waves
The most cathartic music I've ever heard. It's mournful, yet ultimately hopeful. To me, the emotional arc of the song is about going through negative emotions and not rotting in them. And that's something I've struggled with.

10. Rezn - Optic Echo
This track convinced me that saxophone in doom metal has to become more common. I really like Rezn's approach. There's aspects of it that feel very modern, and there's aspects that feel very vintage. They capture the best of both.

9. Spiritual Beggars - Mushroom Tea Girl
A psychedelic stoner track with amazing groove and riffs. In the grand scheme of things, it's perhaps not very unique. But a band from Sweden doing this in the 90's in parallel to the US west coast is pretty fucking cool.

8. Boris - Just Abandoned Myself
Boris get 3 because they're the most brilliant musicians on this planet. This is a banger of a noise rock track that flips the idea of a never-ending intro on its head and is instead an incredibly long outro.

7. Boris - Flood
Despite not understanding the lyrics, Flood conveys an extremely strong emotional narrative through its music. It also shows how music can be fractals of tension and release, from bar to bar to hour to hour.

6. Boris - Vomitself
A foundational, albeit somewhat late piece of drone metal. And to me, the greatest. It's really getting the right mix of everything -- harshness and pleasantness, static and motion, simplicity and layering.

It's not everyone's cup of tea. It's a genre that moves very slowly. But it's like a margherita, you know. Very bare-bones. But if you get it right, man is it good

5. Electric Wizard - Mind Transferal
Underrated song from this album. Again, a perfect mix of groove and heavy riffs. This one centres the bass more than the rest of the album though, and Tim Bagshaw's solo is my favourite bass solo of all time.

4. Sleep - Sonic Titan
It's the quintessential stoner doom song. It's got riffs, it's got groove, it's Sabbath worship. Al's bass timbre is so good. I cried a little when I first heard the crescendo after Al's solo section back when it released.

3. Conan - Paincantation
The heaviest song I've ever heard. In every dimension of the word. Tuning, timbre, speed. Wish there was more stuff like this but I've heard nothing that really compares in sheer energy.

1. Kyuss - Whitewater
One of, if not the best track by this band. They really shined when Bjork got to write. Shame about their internal conflict.
