The Civil Rights struggle was *very* violent, it's just that the violence was almost entirely one-sided--in keeping with the expectation and comfort of white people. Those who faced down this violence deserve our praise, but if we would honor them, we'd remember that it was a very violent struggle.

I don't disagree with you, but when you watch the people whose job it is to oppose Trump fold like a house of cards, it doesn't give one a lot of hope that soldiers who have more to lose for bravery will bravely refuse to follow unconstitutional orders.

part of what made hitler so dangerous was that at least during his rise to power he really was not scared of physical violence and neither were any of his closest comrades. they'd seen worse. all our fascists know is bitching at each other online and melting down over petty drama. thank christ.
