“Surrender Dorothy”

After closing my eyes and listening to this, I pictured the speaker wearing a cap with a propeller on top.

On a positive note, we did see an adult fox under the shade of the solar panels.

First roadkill I’ve seen in the area. Not a lot of traffic there, but many people driving too fast.

This series looked like two evenly-matched teams. (Gulp). And while the Giants have had the best bullpen in baseball this season, they’ve blown too many multiple-run leads in the 9th.

Imagine being the richest man on earth and still having to kiss Trump’s ass.

What a joke of a quote. If it wasn’t for hard feelings Trump wouldn’t have any feelings at all.

Has Jordan ever replied like that to someone with a confederate flag?

I like the Jack Black movie where he breaks out in song.

When the Braves opened the season by getting swept by the Padres and Dodgers, I was pissed. I figured by the time they played SF they’d be firing on all cylinders. I’m glad to be wrong!

Oh yeah, Diaz, that’s a keeper! As for Ritter, I’ve got a mental shit list of every hitter that’s ever done damage against the Giants, and he ain’t on it (yet), so he must be unaccomplished!

Who hit it?

Watching the Giants bat is sheer masochism, like watching an elephant try to play piano with its trunk (but way less interesting). If they placed the Manfred runner on third, they still couldn’t plate him.

Next time they load the bases with less than two outs, I suggest trying something radical: step into the batter’s box without a bat. Just stand there. At least there won’t be a double play, and maybe the pitcher will be thrown off his rhythm and issue a walk.

Pretty sobering to realize that I’m older than Archie Bunker and Ted Baxter, and giving Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies a run for her money.

I’d take the robot from Lost in Space; hell, I’d take Dr. Smith over Trump.

Yes, but entirely automated— no need for people waving antennas. (I hope no one in the condor program sees this!)

All true. Also true: when you use Patrick Bailey to PH in a clutch situation, you deserve to lose.

I ate a bowl of Cheerios in anticipation of the offense stringing up a bunch of 0’s.

I’ve noticed he uses nasty to insult or intimidate women, but he doesn’t use it with men. Hillary and Kamala were “nasty” but Biden wasn’t. I don’t remember ever hearing him describe a man as nasty.

I can see now that he and Kimberly Guilfoyle were a perfect match…

I can’t stand how he uses holidays to vent. It’s like Festivus with him, always airing grievances. He’s got the bigotry of Archie Bunker, the ego of Ted Baxter, and the intellect of Homer Simpson.

Is there some sort of competition among insurance companies to see who can produce the most obnoxious commercials? Heffernan, Liberty Mutual (LiMu Emu…wtf), Progressive, and I want to personally butcher the pig in that Geico commercial.

This has been a trademark of Giants baseball since 2022. Every offense slumps during the course of a season, but the Giants slumps last longer; the past couple of seasons it’s been the entire second half. The scary thought with this team is that it’s healthy and still can’t hit.

Every holiday becomes Festivus with him, just another excuse for the endless airing of grievances.

Shame on them for working on a Sunday!

“Love Me Do” would have landed much higher had they just tweaked the title: “Do Me Love.”

They need an audible bobblehead for him.

I agree. If, god forbid, I ever find myself covered in shit, I’m rushing to the nearest fire hose instead of tidying up my house.

I think the longest game last year was 12.

Has there even been a 13-inning game this year?

And for what? Endorsing his opponent in an election he won? As far as I know, she never badmouthed him. Maybe he feels rejected by an attractive, talented woman. More than a snowflake, he’s an entire snowman. And an abominable one at that!

Consider both extremes in one team in a single season: The 2017 Dodgers were an astounding 91-36, then went 1-16 over their next 17 before righting the ship to go 104-58. I don’t remember a truly great team having a skid like that.

Oh, that makes sense. (Never watched Game of Thrones!)

When he resigned as Sec. of the Interior in 2019, I said “Fuck him and the horse he rode in on.” I immediately felt I was too harsh on the horse. Good to see at least one redeeming action on the part of the man, though.

Willing to bet those editors had never even heard of dire wolves before this.

That’ll be one lengthy eulogy, but why not? (“Go bung?”….ooh, I don’t know about that one…sounds like it belongs in a Beavis and Butthead episode)

That’s quite a Berraism. And honestly, I’d feel the same!

Besides, he’s a brazen liar. He said he wasn’t endorsing either candidate in the 2024 election in March, but just a few months later he was full-throttle MAGA. He richly deserves whatever economic woes come his way.

I don’t suppose you care much for Max Muncy either….

The other two, #606 and #602, both died of lead poisoning, and it sure looks like that was the case with #626. Maybe one of these days we'll get lead out of the environment, but until we do stories like this will continue.

#626 was down by the road, but her condition had deteriorated to the point where she couldn't fly. They picked her up and placed her in a kennel for transport to the Oakland Zoo for emergency treatment, but she didn't even make it that far. She was the last survivor of the group of 3 we picked up

I decided to wait for her to show up at the carcass. She never did. I spent 4 hours there without seeing her. Even though she'd flown 17 miles the day before, her utter lack of movement Tuesday had me expecting the worst. On Wednesday a couple of crew members returned to site.
