One of many reasons it’s dumb to try and “fix” the trade deficit with tariffs is that trade wars hurt exports in addition to imports—keep in mind we usually have a manufacturing trade surplus with Canada, before Trump began wrecking that trade relationship

I actually saw my favorite signs of the night in the recycling bin at Crystal City Station. "Immigrants made me. I make America" is such a good line that I have never seen before. Wish I could thank whoever made these.

I hate having to constantly explain basic stuff like “externalities” to this administration. Do people think we were subsidizing solar for funzies or because it has benefits in terms of CO2 reduction not captured in the direct value of electricity it produces?
