It’s a crime TIMESTALKER isn’t playing US theaters, but so is how hard Alice fights for her movies. She’s a part of so much great UK comedy for so long her resume is ridiculous. Maybe you know her best from Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace. Or how she acted in & directed PREVENGE while actually pregnant.

Still seething about this. Venmo have taken the position that what’s done is done and it’s not their problem to solve. Imagine if some regular Joe closed a corporation’s accounts & transferred all of their funds to who knows where - you wanna tell me there’d be no consequences?!

In case you needed yet another reminder that corporations exist for the sole purposes of screwing you over with impunity, then turning a blind eye. Accountability has gone the way of the dodo. The sociopaths are in charge.

Massive love and respect to Renny Harlin who approved the restoration. He was hard at work on a new movie while we were working on this.

Eisenhower oversaw a massive build up of capitalism-driven American military power that led directly to Vietnam & every war since & then when he was leaving he went “oh, by the way, I call this evil that will doom our nation ‘The Military Industrial Complex’, sorry I didn’t try to stop it, seeeya”

🤞🏻 Thanks. The cold comfort that it could always be worse is, in this case, a literal cold comfort.

We ended up rewatching it again on US election night to avoid doomscrolling the news coverage - as far as enjoyable distractions go it managed to be prophetically depressing in equal measure. Up there among JC’s best for mine.

It’s a stark and sterile film in many ways, brutally so that at times it even surpasses Crichton’s work, but with moments of Hodges’ wry humour. Very modernist in tone and look. Not universally loved but it’s one of my favourites.

🙌🏻❤️🙌🏻 It truly is shattering. The trio are all impressive but Weaver knocks it outta the park! Up there with Polanski’s best for mine.
