We lost Jim in September. He was a tremendous songwriter and collaborator, founding member of King Radio. We played together in our first high school band Exit and then years later he asked me to join him in his new group Hadley Transfer Station.

“For all the rugged emotional terrain, It Will Still Keep Feeling Rough is at its core a triumphant album. When he was feeling his roughest, Thayer sought solace in music — and after 35 years in a supporting role, found that he’s more than capable of stepping out front.” — FreakScene

“Despite the roughness of the journey, “It Will Still Keep Feeling Rough ” is ultimately a work of hope and resistance that marks a promising start to this new chapter of his musical career.” — The Greenfield Recorder

You can find the single + b-side on Bandcamp (which is best for me) and all other streaming platforms. Plus, there's a video I made on YouTube!

"Beginning To See The Dark" is accompanied by an acoustic version of "Tempest," the lead track on IWSKFR—with acoustic guitars, slide guitar, banjo, upright bass. Both songs were written, performed, recorded, and mixed by me. Then, they were mastered for by Mark Alan Miller at Radio Valkyrie.

But now, I'm releasing the song to the world in celebration of 1) My birthday (yesterday)! and 2) The anniversary of one year of releasing my own music. (Also yesterday!) Yay, me! (Though, not to mislead, the song is not exactly a celebration, as you can tell by the title. 😉)
