the reason i'm ever optimistic is because bluesky has a near-monopoly on trans folks, the strongest per-capita posting demographic on earth. it's like having all the kenyan marathon runners.

LA geography is kinda weird. The metro area has something closer to 18m. Some of the hotel protests happened in Pasadena, which isn't part of the 3.8m, but is definitely part of the metro area.

Venice and Santa Monica have some pretty reactionary types that you run into. That guy who rings the bell and yells "Champion!" makes you feel good until you stop and chat and get some heavy rfk style "health" advice

There's some of this happening out in the valley in LA, got a complex on top of whole foods in Burbank and then in Sherman Oaks there's a huge one going up on top of Trader Joe's

We shared many smiles and laughs over MASH, and when I think of that show, and any of the people who brought it to us, it's impossible to not think of my mom.
I'm sorry to hear of Loretta Swift's passing. She used her time here to make the world a brighter place.

We didn't only watch the first episode.
Every break I was home over the next few years I'd buy the next season, and over the course of a few years, my mom and I watched every episode together.

Yeah, it's one of those all time great albums. I think you can hear McCartney really figuring out a lot of sounds for the entire band on that album. Mike Love is the one who suggested that the bridge for back in the USSR focus on the girls too, so you even get that crossover on the opening track

How many miles should I run tomorrow? Thinking between 8 and 12, but my run clubs big season has effectively ended with last week's half marathon

There was a sandwich shop in West Hollywood called Soda Pops that I could walk to from work. I could have eaten the turkey avocado sandwich every single day for forever, no other sandwich has come close since and I'm going to be chasing that high

Yeah! The strongtowns book is pretty conservative and a lot of people get introduced to urbanism through that route.
