I’m beginning to think we were better off with the Articles of Confederation.

Nobody bothers to question these morons. "Oh, which states are those?"

Try a different browser. I can't see nih.gov it on Safari or Chrome on MacOS; I can on Firefox.

Any humans at that level would be working 100% from an AI-driven script, anyway.

You’ll note Heinlein never wrote “The Sound of His Wings” or “The Stone Pillow”.

Today I read about the Association of German National Jews. Their goal was the total assimilation of Jews into German society. They were strongly anti-Marxist, anti-Zionist, and anti-Eastern European Jews. They voted for Hitler; they thought his Jew-hatred was just to stir up the masses.

in that case, try to explain why the "swing states", and only those states, had a hugely disproportionate number of ballots with votes for Trump and for no other candidates or issues...

When we moved back to the US from Germany in '68, I had developed a serious addiction gummibärli. An entirely unsatisfiable addiction in LA. Haribo didn't make it to the US until 1982. I got friends in Germany to send them. Your uncle Jan might have helped me out.

2025 is the most interesting year number in a long time.

OK also: (20+25)² = 2025. It's a fun number.

Neurotribes, by Steve Silberman. I've probably given away a dozen of these. Also: Cold Comfort Farm. Likewise.

The right answer to "it's not your fault" is "I know what I did."

"truer than a lot of the real facts" -- that's the first thing that jumped out at me. Dylan's lifelong self-mythologizing is probably why he went along with this film.

She's not supposed to represent the American people. What an ignorant utterance. She represents the people of her district, 81% of whom voted for her.

wow. My father, 30 years in the VOA, retired as West Coast Bureau Chief, is spinning so hard that it's likely registering on CalTech seismometers.

Every single day is a possible anniversary of the day you're going to die. Celebrate every day. It's a good bedtime practice, perhaps: "Did I celebrate today yet? Do it now."

Or all of his great accomplishments. Indeed. We don't remember LBJ for the Great Society; we remember him for Vietnam.
