At the very least this will be a trend in public R1s outside of maybe IL and CA. It will further the divide between the haves and have-nots and shrink the number of elite research institutions in the US. At the very least.

I was at a punk show in 83 where a skinhead jumped up on stage and gave a Nazi salute. The bass player hit him with his bass, knocking him into the crowd and 150 people collectively hauled his ass out of the venue and threw him in the mud. This was the right and only appropriate response.

Ok, now that I've seen the video clip, I call bullshit on the councilmember who said they were "scared" by Kluwe. Everyone who's ever seen a single nonviolent protest knew what he was doing within half a second. The cops certainly did (and knew they were on camera).
