Some people are assholes.
Some people are flaming assholes.
And then there's Donald Trump.
AN INJURY TO ONE IS AN INJURY TO ALL!
If I am not for myself, who will be?
If I am only for myself, what am I?
And if not now, when?

"The people I admire most are those who do good without expectation of reward. That is why I admire many secular humanists and atheists, because they do good not because God commanded it, nor because they seek a place in heaven, but simply because they feel it is the right thing to do." -Rabbi sacks

Jon Batiste, who performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, was removed from the Kennedy Center's board by Trump.

As you know, he wanted to name it as a personal tribute, but Bay of Pigs was already taken.

Never put your faith in the Democrats. The ultimate power lies in the hands of the working people who can refuse to sell their labor power. A one-week general strike would do wonders. Sadly, this is not the 30s, when a militant working class had the power to pressure FDR.

Protest organizers have been threatened with deportation. Why don't YOU go organize a protest instead of berating students who were brave enough to speak up when you weren't.

A sadly typical ad hominem response sans any serious argument.

Just what we needed: a corporate war monger. If the DNC had not been such "idiots," we could have had Bernie in 2016 and 2020. And this "bros" nonsense is just an excuse to dismiss him and his wildly popular anti-corporate message, just as the Democratic leadership has always resisted.

You might consider that he was hours away from winning the nomination when the Clinton/Obama corporate wing of the Democratic Party crushed him. You might also consider that he has sponsored more amendments than almost anyone. He's done a lot even in the face of corporate opposition.

The last story was obviously inspired by Rod Serling.

What we need, more desperately than ever, is to solidarize with and protect immigrants; all of them. And in doing so, may we begin to create a society in which the primary ethos is, "An Injury to One is an Injury to All." 3/3

Our society has become profoundly atomized, and people are deeply alienated from each other and, of course, from the corporate state that sets the rules and limits public discourse. Such a society loses its humanity and justifies, nay sanctifies, cruelty. 2/3

Wait until China retaliates by shifting its soybean imports from the US to Brazil. Another nail in the coffin of family farms, which will be bought up by big agriculture companies. Farmers will be forced to enter the working class as employees.

Denys Davidov, among others. Would that John-Paul Himka had a channel.
