exactly, why are you doing this at all if this is the only way you're willing to do it

I really feel that the only reliable way to get good at writing is to be bad at it and to keep going anyway. That's the whole game. And so if you have a machine to all the "being bad" and "keep going" parts for you, you're not being efficient — you're being a weak fucking dork! It's not for you!

Anyway, yes, I know that LLM technology has value, but in the humanities, it's just stupid bullshit for fucking imbeciles. It should not come preinstalled on every computer sold to college students. In academia it should be treated like deadly viruses or fissile material, you should need a license

Personable incompetence is so much more immediately appealing and interesting to an artist than slick bullshit! Every piece of children's media tells you to be yourself, and it really is the correct answer for artists, and American adulthood now rewards doing the exact opposite, and it's just sad

I get LLM-generated emails full of misinformed ass-kissing from prospective students ("After reviewing some of your articles online, I have become engrossed in your research at Cornell"), and I pity these kids for their desire to discover shortcuts to some theoretical success

I really do think getting an LLM to help you write is a symptom of a profound self-disgust. It's normal that you can't stand to see yourself not be good enough. The real writer's way of dealing with this is to do it more so you improve, not getting the plagiarism machine to do it for you

Steve no joke I literally just did this. I was like why the hell did I put a semicolon there? It was a period with a poppyseed on top

The guy on my street with the patriotic gnome village has acquired a new gnome in a red hat that says "make gnomes great again" and all the rest of the gnomes + the godzilla and the giant ape that typically terrorize them, are turned toward him in respect and admiration

Always wondered what lurked within the deepest, darkest recesses of my consciousness. Car chases, turns out
