Glad to see we’re addressing the root cause of all of this: Luther’s heresy

Holy shit have movies always been this fuckin loud?

It is honestly surprising no one has tried to bring back payment in company scrip

Commissioner Slaughter and I released a statement about DOGE’s arrival at the FTC.

Kurt Vonnegut man

yeah man, please make my 85 year old great aunt prove her citizenship to vote in rural georgia, this definitely isn’t reminiscent of anything in the american past

Share this everywhere. I believe there should be immigration enforcement. I believe there shld be an immigration enforcement agency. But this one is simply lawless to the core. That fact is just inescapable.

"The Great Gatsby" was published 100 years ago today. Charles Schulz came back to it numerous times in "Peanuts," including in this strip from June 26, 1995, my favorite in the last decade of "Peanuts," so spare and melancholy and strange.

5 years ago: "wow it kind of sucks how Gen X is constantly overlooked in those generational trend articles."

Similarly a promise to retroactively restore funding to cut grants and contracts (with interest) and rehire fired Federal workers (with back pay) should be in the next Dem nominees' platform

💯 Dems should also commit to a specific position: Trump has not honored the promises and agreements of his predecessors and we will not honor his. If you're gullible enough to trust an assurance from Trump, understand that it is gone the moment he is.

It's like a fun game of choose the dystopia. Are they doing this: • to hide crimes • training data for AI • digitization contracts for cronies • destroy history • ew! old stuff! • just to watch it burn • it'll be explained in a book in 30 years called "Where Were All The Good Americans?"

the bad line is go up and I do not like it

😕🇺🇸

I had a history teacher in high school who worked long past retirement age because she loved the job. She told a lot of stories about the Depression, and I colored my experience. Her dad ran the company store in a West Virginia coal town, so her family was relatively prosperous.

I know this isn't a dire wolf, but aside from that there's some grim irony in trying to recreate ice age magafauna like this guy and mammoths while we're simultaneously boiling the oceans.

The Emerson line "The corruption of man is followed by the corruption of language" always comes to mind for me, though I don't think it's really what he was talking about.

This is why you DON’T WANT government run like a corporation. Companies do these things to maximize profits. Every extra layer of difficulty for the public yields them millions in profits because people just give up. This is shameful and dangerous.

adobe deleted their post so this one's for posterity

This is a neat piece of cinematic scholarship!

Hey! I'm congestion pricing here!

This is true recent event; shocking & compelling... I was a British tourist trying to leave America. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

fixed it for you

I kind of hate "cringe." After years of Gen X cynicism, there were about 5 minutes when it was socially acceptable to be sincere. But then someone had to go and reinvent the word "embarrassing."

Educators have been told for years - implicitly or explicitly - that they're supposed to be ready to die for their kids if a bad guy shows up with a gun. Don't expect them to roll over now just because the bad guy also has an ICE patch.
