I have a new blog post up: "Corporate 'DEI' Is An Imperfect Vehicle for Deeply Meaningful Ideals" charity.wtf/2025/02/10/c... I know a lot of people are feeling incredibly scared and demoralized right now. I get it; I am too. (Who knows if my marriage will still be valid in two years?)

This reminds me of some (not all!) newcomers in Lisbon who spot "problems" and assume locals haven't noticed. A historical city has layers of complexity, but apparently it requires a techbro to 'enlighten' everyone..

Updating federal systems like a bull in a china shop... What could possibly go wrong? 🙃🚨

Spotify just randomly fed me a song and once again I'm thinking "The ironic part is that you bet they think the song is about them and they're actually correct" Now guess the song? 🙂

#AgileTD happy to be back in the Program Committee!

The store is now selling "I will de-Nazify shit but I will not re-Nazify shit" tshirts and I hope they sell a million of them, lol

I couldn’t help but think of all the times a Riskstorming session uncovered this kind of risk or impediment before a single line of code was written—saving us so much trouble down the line.

Representation will always matter, especially for those who are literally being erased from our existence. Our administration might try to tell us one thing, but what we teach our kids at home can be another.

Brilliant piece by the @nytimes.com on the first signs of tyranny youtu.be/X_D-yW8v0Jo?...

That's all folks...

Musk speaking to the far right German party, the AfD, today. Best picture angle, ever! 😂

Perfect example from @snipe.lol on why having diverse teams can be key for creating successful products.

"You can't improve what you don't measure" is a famous quote I heard again at a recent local meetup. Over the years my perspective has shifted on that one. Yes, it's true, but if someone says "this sucks" then that's already a measure that can be used for us to improve whatever "this" is.

I'm even confused what the complaint from Elon is here. That writeup is accurate and unbiased. It is *simply true* that "the gesture was compared to a Nazi salute." The writeup isn't even taking a side. It's pointing out that people did compare it to such a salute. It also includes his denial.

seen a LOT of these — they’re always contrarian in a way that isn’t rude but annoyingly pedantic
