Chicago lawyer, but the boring kind. Sports fan. Experiencing a social media relapse. Should be obvious, but nothing here is legal advice

Thinking Rogue One is bad is at least somewhat heterodox. Are there really people who DON'T think Temple of Doom is racist?
I was born and raised an Indiana Jones lover and I still thought that was just a given

hey, you might be right.
These are the quotes (and careful no-comments) that make me wonder though.
I think there would be a lot less stupidity in how we got there, just not sure if final outcome is different.

Eh...how sure are we of that? She would have been a better president in 1,000 different ways, but this one isn't the hill I'd die on.

More sanewashing BS. The quote was incomprehensible garbage ending with Trump asking the reporter to "give him a break" and Washington Post reports it like it was strongman bravado.

Tubby Smith looked in my dorm window, knocked on the window, and demanded I stop climbing on the shelving unit as a fourth grader at UK Basketball camp.

I would guess the implicit bet being placed is that more right-wing challenges are backed by big money, so on net it's a win for the right

I have tried to get off social media on my phone to at least relegate it to desktop use. I put my Kindle app where the old Twitter icon used to be and ended up restarting a long-lapsed reading habit instead of further cooking my brain.

(not sure if you're being rhetorical and if so I apologize) -- previous circuit guidance was that we had to give schools extra special deference, so to overcome it students DID have a higher standard to clear to get an accommodation. God bless the USA.

My Chicago suburb did not have (as far as I could tell) a single remaining public basketball court on the entire north side of town as of 2024. Pickleball courts galore though. Had to go to the next town over to hoop.

Almost like destroying our nation's credibility to actually follow through on any deal (especially a flimsy framework-of-a-famework) has downstream effects!

Rs had at least 5 more votes ready to go but they closed the vote when it was mathematically assured of passage.
Ds should run younger candidates but this is just not true on this vote.

My firm is recently subscribed to the Lexis AI tool and I've played around with it a little. Marginally useful for chasing "hmm, wasn't there a case in x jurisdiction that held Y" (provided that you then GO READ THE CASE), worse than useless at most other things

My hazy recollection is rhymes-with-launch has the technical definition given as number 1 there (a finance term) whereas rhymes-with-ranch is more colloquially a slice or a subgroup of any larger category. However, there's always the real possibility that the distinction I saw was fully made up!
comment in response to

depends on the context. Can be tranche (rhymes with ranch), or tranche (rhymes with launch). At one point I knew which was appropriate for which use case but I have overwritten that part of my brain with literally anything else
