you know two things can be true at once, right? this is the nuance aspect i was referring to.
it's true that teens can be using it nefariously to write their essays.
its also true that it can be a tool to facilitate learning when implemented properly

this is not to say its perfect. its not.
but AI is here to stay. it has many uses. some more nefarious than others.
shouting at people who discuss it is not productive. you come off as a child that struggles with emotional regulation
and i say this as someone who is a creative

killing the very idea of learning? it can actually help learning when used properly.
just because you don't get use out of it doesn't mean no one else does. you're very clearly jaded as a creative which causes people like you to lash out at the mere mention of "AI"

truly disappointing to see the lack of self-awareness from people who left twitter (due to its toxicity) behave this way.

"other people are shitty so i can be shitty too" yeah incredible logic there. you are such a loser incapable of intelligent nuanced conversation. it's ok. we all have our weaknesses

IMO, it's also only a matter of time until sex traffickers kidnap women & children off the street, by pretending to be ICE agents--if it hasn't already happened.
Since people are disappearing on a literally a daily basis, how would we even know that someone had been kidnapped by sex traffickers?

Bennett is def uninspiring. Heās confirmed trump nominees. Polis is trying to āboth sidesā it. I havenāt looked too much into Weiserās campaign yet but heās at least fought back by joining other states in lawsuits?

Yeah I would agree itās one of the most libertarian dem states. But (eastern) Washington and Oregon would be in the running too.
comment in response to

lol eh itās there but I guess it depends on which states weāre comparing to. I would say individualism is way worse in a place like TX or WY. We also have state taxes, for example. Polis is pro-business though, but heās a lame duck. We might get Bennett as the gov next *sigh*

I wouldnāt say the state is libertarian. We do have a libertarian governor though (who is a ādemocratā by party affiliation).

2/ a slew of criminal laws. And he tired of it when his antics started running existential risks for his companies. There's no morality tale here about Washington being a harder beast to tame or whatever other bullshit. He's a destructive crook and he needs to be held accountable.

like, yeah, it's definitely possible that tech companies stop hiring junior staff for entry-level dev work, that's a thing that will definitely happen, but there's no other pipeline for mid-level work these systems can't/won't do, and the smarter companies will figure that out quickly

Please show me where news channels are being maliciously created by LLMs.
Disinformation is a problem, but it exists regardless of AI. AI might make it easier, but thatās because itās making a lot of things easier.
LLMs and ML have a lot of positive potential. Canāt throw out the bby with the bw

Iām not sure what point youāre trying to make. You think people spouting bullshit on the internet is āmanageableā but LLM-powered accounts are āunmanageableā? Also using LLMs for bots on social media is like 1 use case out of many.

Yeah Iām not a fan of moving to turf. I understand why they are making the switch though. Someone on 104.3 the fan suggested they could sell pieces of the grass and use the funds for the team/NIL. Wouldnāt be a bad idea.

And, given the comments (thank you for all the considered ones), I want to make my position clear: AI is a general purpose technology that will impact many aspects of life & work soon. Some impacts will be good & others very bad. Mitigating the bad & building on the good is key to all of our futures
comment in response to

Hopefully things change here, as my big worry about AI talk on this site is that people are being misled about the capabilities of AI by influencers who are telling them what they want to hear.
AI is not going away, it will impact all of our futures, and it needs more voices shaping its direction.

do you think bernie would have maintained 13 million voters if there were 3-4 more candidates in the 2016 primary?
comment in response to

"Bernie lost his voters to other candidates."
exactly. you're *so* close to getting it
comment in response to

2020 also included almost 5 million votes that were neither for bernie or the nominee, unlike 2016. almost 3 million of those were to Warren, who I also supported but split the Bernie vote so let's remember context.
I'm not glorifying anything. I'm just stating facts. 1/n

I would say dropping out from not getting support (cough Kamala cough) would be running a bad campaign. I think finishing 2nd in a crowded primary field as an outsider isnāt too bad.

wait is your argument that he was just one guy in a march of thousands? doesn't that undermine every movement ever? I think advocating for universal healthcare and a more equitable economy would benefit black people, but hey what do I know!
