Yes. Water (Special Measures) bill has already increased powers. Labour have increased investigations, increased fines, and banned director’s bonuses already. They’re already beginning to tighten the screw

Given where we are it’s sensible to tighten regulation to limit dividends, compel investment, and punish bad behaviour. It will either deliver results directly, or lead to private owners exiting allowing nationalisation at a much lower price. Fools rush in

Spending Ā£1billion less on agency staff reduces reliance on private sector agencies and is Ā£1billion less of public money for private profit….

It’s a sign of economic common sense. Tighten regulation to limit dividends, compel investment, and punish bad behaviour. It will either deliver results directly, or lead to private owners exiting allowing nationalisation at a much lower price. Fools rush in

Exactly….

One of the best ways to defeat Farage is for media types to: a) promote positive change that Labour are delivering b) stop promoting speculative nonsense.

For balance. He is already delivering a massive reduction in spending on agency staff e.g. staff provided by private companies……

What an interesting question… someone should investigate to see if there are obvious links…
comment in response to post
It should be ā€œfront pageā€ news…
comment in response to post
Indeed this must surely mean Labour are trying to privatise the NHS somehow….
comment in response to post
To be fair. They have posted an article about it. But they’re not promoting it on the main page… not for me at least….

I probably shouldn’t have engaged to the extent I did. Clearly here to push to agenda as unable to accept basic facts!

The information agrees with me. The majority of polls shows a majority AGAINST independence. I have no issue with this information. You seem to be projecting
comment in response to post
I have no issue with any independence. I have an issue with misinformation.

Trying to move onto the person making the argument is a very clear sign that your argument has fallen apart….
comment in response to post
You didn’t post the ā€œwrong pollā€. There is no ā€œwrong pollā€. The point was that the majority of polls show a clear majority against independence. You just helped confirm this. Thank you

You proved yourself wrong when you posted Statista polling showing 54% AGAINST independence šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ™‚

Also lots of costs are front loaded while benefits take longer to materialise. Take doctors wages. Large upfront cost to above inflation payrises. In time many positive impacts on the economy e.g. lower waiting lists, better retention, doctors spending more. This all takes time to cycle through
comment in response to post
Also corporation tax and self assessment are paid with a lag of several months… so the majority of the effect of the current economy on both of those won’t be seen in tax receipts until 2026
comment in response to post
Because things take time to cycle through…. wages are increasing now, but people are still worse off than 5 years ago… people don’t feel better off yet. They have debts to pay, they want to build up savings etc. In time the higher disposable incomes will be spent, helping the economy to grow
comment in response to post
A lot of words to try and distract from the fact the majority of polling shows a majority against independence.
comment in response to post
This is from 2019!!!!! Yes, there have been brief periods when independence has taken a lead in the polls. These are the exception, and the majority of polls, show the majority consistently saying no to independence.
comment in response to post
The Statista polling you’ve just shared shows a clear majority against independence. Oh dear….
comment in response to post
We can agree that it is for Scot’s to decide. But the majority of polls clearly show the majority of Scots say no to independence. The majority of polls have shown that for years.

The OP isn’t the one showing any lack of understanding… lol Stop digging mate lol

A very fragile narrative….
comment in response to post
I went through a weird period of getting blocked by scot’s nationalists who would very aggressively claim the majority backed independence, and immediately blocked me when I provided evidence to the contrary
comment in response to post
They’re really really really really NOT random though….. they’re incredibly relevant to the OP, and to your response to it.
comment in response to post
Survation and YouGov show a majority against independence

Oh dear…. You don’t know much about recent Labour history do you 🤣🤣🤣

Phase 1 was linking buses + trams. Phase 2 is linking trains to give Manchester a fully integrated transport network like TFL in London. It’s a revolution in the way transport is being run. Soon to be rolled out across the country
comment in response to post
This is from Sept 2024 e.g. 1 year anniversary. Passenger #’s +5% v previous year Revenue +Ā£3mil v expectations Costs 1/3 less per kilometre v previous system And this is before the tram system was integrated; and tap & go was added
comment in response to post
Yep. It’s a hugely positive change, with Manchester running ahead of everyone else and showing what can be achieved. Laughable to not give credit here
comment in response to post
Labour have made changes in pretty much every policy area you’ve listed. Your expectation seems to be they should have done everything, immediately, regardless of cost. If you were genuinely expecting a unicorn then not surprised you’re disappointed

Don’t leave planes outside is probably a good start
