Jennifer, nice work. I am old enough to remember when this narrative was used about the 1964 election. They told me if I voted for Goldwater we’d be at war in Vietnam they would be mounting inflation, and riots in the streets. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

If they were Marxists, Senator Lee, that would make killing them something other than murder? How stupid and cruel are you?

I am old enough to remember Marvin Gaye. Great singer. Still not the anthem we need.

Get us an anthem. One we can all sing. We need our own “we shall overcome.”

Please, Barbara Grassley. Tell us one good thing Elon Musk has done in DOGE. Just one. Just putting USAID in the Woodchipper count for you?

Does Musk not realize that being in the Epstein tapes is a feature, not a bug?

I watched the replay of his testimony before the House committee. I would have asked him why he wanted federal employees to wake up, traumatized. What have they ever done to him?. And more to the point, once all these agencies are destroyed, who is going to protect his food, his water, and whatever?

Perhaps Musk’s purchase of Twitter has worked out for him. He spent about $30 billion and bought the United States government. While in it, he stole lots of data and crippled any agency with oversight over Tesla, SpaceX, and whatever else he owns. All this while on ketamine.

That’s the difference between Trump and God. God does not think he’s Donald Trump.

I read Noah Smith regularly. I think he is thoughtful on all issues. I do not know why all this animosity is directed at him. It is not a good sign for a side of the argument that wants to be tolerant of legitimate, although disagreeing opinions.

When you write “pay the highest effective tax rate,“ are you looking at the law or at their tax returns? How many use the ploy of living off margin interest which is not income, but a deductible expense? That makes their effective income tax rate zero.

Leah, let’s get an anthem. Ask anybody to write one. Submit the lyrics and video. Hold a contest. “We shall overcome” was a powerful motivator. We should have our own. And by our , I mean the resistance. Across all the groups.
