I hope all of you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend. And as always, please be good to each other.

And congratulations to my dear friend and colleague Justice Sarah Hawkins Warren on being elected by her fellow justices as the next presiding justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia. The people of Georgia are truly fortunate to have her serving in this capacity.

Congratulations to my dear friend and colleague, Presiding Justice Nels Peterson. He’s going to be an outstanding chief justice for the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Chief Justice Michael P. Boggs—a dear friend and colleague—has served our great state with distinction and honor for many years. And while I’ll miss having his tremendous wisdom on the Supreme Court of Georgia, he has more than earned the right to enter into a new chapter of his illustrious career.

For those who spent several years on Twitter, what are your thoughts on how Bluesky is developing as a platform? What do you like? What would you like to see change or improved? I’m finishing up my LLM thesis on judges using social media, and I’m interested in your take on the different mediums.

Narrator: If people want to know how many law schools ARE offering state con law courses, they should read this article: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

I love that so many law schools are now offering state constitutional law courses. As I’ve said before, the overwhelming majority of cases in this country take place in & are resolved by state courts. It’s crucial to educate the next generation of lawyers about state courts and state constitutions.

It isn’t my best time, but I am happy with it.

One of the most rewarding things you can do in life is to mentor others in your chosen profession.

The judges of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals held a wonderful & moving memorial ceremony this afternoon for my judge, The Honorable Daniel A. Manion. I really wish that I could have been there in person, but it was so nice of the 7th Circuit to livestream it for those of us who couldn’t make it.

Georgia Appellate Practice Class No. 4 (at Mercer Law School), Spring 2025, with a special guest appearance from Justice Keith R. Blackwell.

I am not much of an NFL fan, and I honestly didn’t really care who won tonight; but I do like Saquon Barkley, and I am really happy to see him get a Super Bowl ring. He’s seems like a good egg.
