Here's how to do it. Thank you @primeministeruk.bsky.social! #StandwithUkraine youtu.be/sY01i-aEvTc?...

I'd be interested to understand from those following the USA lead on this, how it helps their ability to hire the best talent. I will stay true to seeing #inclusion #DEI, not just as the right thing to do, but as a way to drive the best performance and outcomes. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Welcome on board to #GreatBritishEnergy Dan McGrail, very much looking forward to working with you, as we drive forward the #energytransition with all the great clean power, great jobs and prosperity that will create. Full press release here: www.gov.uk/government/n...

It was a pleasure to represent the UK and #GreatBritishEnergy at the Oslo Energy Forum this week. A takeaway for me: #Norwegian energy companies and investors think we in the #UK are managing the #energytransition better than we in the UK believe we are. They also appreciate our leadership.

Just re-reading this πŸ‘‡ and it is very applicable as #GreatBritishEnergy is getting pushed harder for quick fixes. Whilst I know that we need some early quick wins, we will not be blown off course to help deliver #cleanpower2030 and beyond in a strategic, responsible and long-term way.

I'm delighted to announce an important milestone for #GreatBritishEnergy, as we bring together an expert board to rapidly scale up the company and get to work in delivering our UK-wide clean energy revolution πŸ‘‡ www.gov.uk/government/n...

In my previous post here, I said that I'd give some more thought to how we in business can be more positive in response to populist messaging. Here is my thinking πŸ‘‡ Comments very much welcome. www.vocl.uk/progressive-...

This is truly positive news to start the new year. 58% of energy generated from renewable sources in 2024. We now truly have the wind behind us to keep accelerating the pace and trend πŸ˜€ Looking forward to working with many of you on doing just that! www.theguardian.com/environment/...

As 2024 comes to a close, a couple of reflections: Another year in which political populists globally gained power and influence v. progressive centrists. How to respond to this in a positive rather than defeatist way, is something I will be reflecting on lots during 2025. 1/5

Fascinating discussions with Greg Jackson of @octopus.energy today. They are showing how flexible, agile energy pricing is bringing energy costs down, enabled by more renewable energy generation. #GBE plans to enable more of that and help make energy bills more predictable and lower.

#PenyCymoedd Wind Farm is the largest onshore wind farm in England and Wales, with 76 turbines that can power 15% of homes in Wales with renewable electricity. Fantastic to discuss with @Vattenfall opportunities for expanding projects like this and the value created for local communities.

Nice to be back in #Aberdeenshire. As I've been saying for some time, the #EnergyTransition is creating very significant opportunity for UK's ports and key coastal regions. Fantastic to see those opportunities first hand at #Peterhead and #Fraserburgh Ports today.

My speech at #OneNorth #Hull conference today; "We can see the re-industrialisation happen in the #Humber and other key coastal hubs" "We now have the opportunity to accelerate, totally decarbonise our energy system, electrify our economy and create 1000s of well paid jobs for our communities"

Tremendous to see #GreatBritishEnergy and the #EnergyTransition Zone in Aberdeen, being a catalyst for this type of investment πŸ‘‡ Every job counts and this all helps build confidence in the #Aberdeen energy transition. uk.news.yahoo.com/sarens-psg-a...

We absolutely must take communities with us as we accelerate the path to clean power. Not easy, but we will work hard at it at #GBE. My comments as presented at ##CBI24 yesterday πŸ‘‡ www.independent.co.uk/business/gb-...

Looking forward to joining and speaking at #CBI24 conference this morning. The climate for business investment remains tough, but the #energytransition is a key opportunity, and the stars seem aligned for us to accelerate progress. We must do that in a positive spirit of public private partnership.

Exactly this πŸ‘‡ It's not easy to drive change on this scale, but every COP takes us forward. This one was particularly challenging. Well done to @Ed_Miliband and the few other global leaders who did lean in, get a deal and make progress. #COP29 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

There was a great interview between @juergenmaier.bsky.social and Evan Davies on Radio4 PM yesterday. It’s towards the end, it’s about all things green transition, GB Energy and its role. Worth a listen. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Great to see our Government commit the UK to the 81% carbon reduction target by 2035. Let's now show the positive contribution this will make to #climate and #economy. It's the only way to bring communities with us, through this period of significant change. www.theccc.org.uk/2024/10/26/c...

Perfect time to be showing leadership at #COP29 www.theguardian.com/environment/...

It's not been the sunniest summer, but it's been the greenest! Looking forward to #GreatBritishEnergy working with many of you in the sector to build on this and accelerate our path to #netzero. www.theguardian.com/business/art...
