“Oh shut up and brush down your velvet!!” said Mildred.
“But we’ve been waiting three weeks!” wailed Norbert.

“Oh MAMMA!” said Mildred. “Hubert is soooo beastly! He won’t give me my whip back and he’s hidden my fishnet stockings and leather thong and I simply MUST have them back for work this evening!”

That is so kind! My daughter got me Laura’s latest for my birthday and it’s very good. Her website has some brilliant, simple recipes as well. Nancy Birtwhistle has a couple of cracking recipes for gf bread and digestive biscuits which I use regularly.

Thank you! Yes, I am familiar with both Becky Excell and the Loopy Whisk, I have the latter’s book! Laura Strange, My Gluten Free Guide is also really good. I will report back on the results! 😃

😃 I’ll be using gluten free flour this time, as was diagnosed gluten intolerant last year so it’s been an interesting learning experience! Cakes and bakes work very well replacing with gf flour. Bread is another matter!

This is heavenly, I made it a couple of years ago. I’ve been thinking about it in the last couple of days so I must make it again!

Yes, they’re quite shocking, and there are worse! The surgical care in England was quite good, largely Gillies’ efforts. But he did learn from a French specialist called Hippolyte Morestin, who died in the ‘flu pandemic. Otherwise not great in France but aftercare and support was much better there.

The old great aunt was aghast. They’d chosen to call the baby Edna. “But…but…every generation in this family has had a Fanny Flora,” she sighed.
