It’s easy to get lost in the talking points, to try to play whack-a-mole with the lies as they emerge. That’s important, of course; folks like Dan Dale and Aaron Rupar are doing yeoman’s work. But we need to do better at countering the flurry of falsehoods with the robust story of who we are.

It’s not about safety. It’s about legitimacy. This might be a ploy by the Trump minions to get people to gather for not good reasons.

Thanks for this. So basically this is a “show up to protest whatever means something to you.” 🤷‍♀️

A protest is not fake. But in these dangerous days, we cannot just trust that someone who is organizing a protest is on the up and up!

Who are you? You can out of nowhere.

Excuse me? Maybe you’re new here & don’t know the how we treat each other on BlueSky. We don’t talk to each other like that. I’ve read every post by AltNPS, every news story. I’m not saying AOC isn’t doing her job. I’m asking why these people with no authority were even let in the buildings.
comment in response to post
Exactly! Why are these Musk representatives not being just thrown out of the building by the building security people?
comment in response to post
I don’t understand why the security people at these different federal buildings are not just throwing Musk’s people out of the building since they have no legal right to be there! It makes no sense!

Wow. Do you talk to Jesus with that mouth?

This is insane! Of course I’m feeling all the feels! That’s called being a well adjusted human! My friends and loved ones have lost everything. Much of the physical spaces of my childhood and young adulthood are gone, even more so for my 94 yo mother. This woman is cray. 🤦‍♀️

Thanks so much for this explanation. I really appreciate it. I read that the total budget was increased but part of it was in some other fund during contract negotiations, so it looked like there was a decrease. But the official line is that the budget was increased so I was confused.

What in the heck does diversity have to do with the inability to stop a fire hurricane? Do I even want to know what he is implying?

I’m so sorry for your son’s loss. I was born and raised in Altadena/Pasadena, family has been there since 1934. I have at least a dozen friends who’ve lost their homes & many more friends of friends. My 94yo mom has lost almost every landmark of her childhood. A lot of mine too. Incomprehensible!

There were no budget cuts to the LAFD! In fact, their budget was increased, not decreased.

Thank you. I have lost count of the number of friends and family who have lost everything in the last three days. The reasons people are giving why this happened are just ridiculous. If you don’t live here, you have no idea what it was like. You cannot stop a fire hurricane.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. You don’t live in Los Angeles County, you don’t even live in California so please just stop.

Oh but that’s common sense and we can’t have that! 🤦‍♀️

Born and raised in CA and in my 67th year.33 yrs in Altadena, live near the Palisades so this is all very personal to me. Totally agree with Steve about how Trump will screw us. But the 1 sided CA politics, mismanagement, etc part? Is he implying we did this to ourselves? How do we stop the wind?

It wasn’t written by Robert Reich. It was written by Steve Schmidt. Reich shared the piece on his substack.

Prices seen in the past week in Ventura Co, CA- $6 a dozen at Smart & Final, about $7 for 2 dozen at Costco, and just 2 hours ago $2.89 a dozen at Trader Joe’s. Make it make sense. 🤦‍♀️
