But we sure did learn about the colored paper and number of copies needed for when we physically file an appeal. The professor was my age. It was Iike e-filing didn’t exist.

Also the pain I felt in my legal writing class when we didn’t learn much about actually *how* to write. In this essay I will…

When I taught (non-legal) writing I insisted you have to learn the rules before you break them. I think it’s the same for legal writing and research. It’s not that you can’t use examples or templates, it’s that you need to know why you make certain argumentative or stylistic choices.

Same. I currently pay someone to scoop for our dogs. If those boxes are pre-labeled and prepaid, I’m in.

Agree. THOUGH. I was listening to a podcast with Free Law Project who suggested that an enterprising dev could take their database of federal oral arguments and create an AI-based virtual panel for mooting. I can see that being useful— without attempting to poorly replace reading and writing.

Oh yes! Have followed Liz for a while. The bar 100% needs to be abolished. Gatekeeping bullshit.

I realize that all the bar measures is how good I am at taking the bar and is no predictor of my suitability for practice. Easy to remind myself when I see some folks who’ve passed the bar doing… well. *flails*

Thank you! I know it’s not bar-level celebration but I’m happy I don’t have to do it again.

I am so sorry. We recently lost our Ramona and it's just the worst. However, I provide this as tribute to your good boy.

I made a long anticipated return!

It came up in the context of the ACS sponsored event at UC. Had no idea. I think there is an appetite for it— the Obergefell symposium was shockingly progressive. Sigh. Dammit.

Just found out NKU does not have a chapter of ACS and I am trying to tell myself I do not need to start one.

Now on round two of sirens downtown. Right about when we were going to leave the house. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Usually shampoo first for me. I sincerely had no idea how to react.

That’s wild. I expect a markup, of course, but that’s pretty nuts.

Is that with insurance?!
comment in response to post
Haha. There isn’t! And it ran out without me needing more to finish the job.

Same and while it was disconcerting to see it was far from surprising, sadly.

I can think of several things the LASD should be investigated for by the DOJ...

that seems a bit unfair to Jerry.
