this um is a thing. obviously you don't have the bleeding components due to a lack of requisite parts; but the rest of it you can go along for the ride... cramps? yep. headaches? yep. bloating? yep. mood swings? yep. cravings? yep.

i feel like i'm not even paying for benefits or amenities. i'm literally paying for reducing my suffering. want to choose a seat? pay want to board earlier so you can use overhead bins? pay want to have any luggage? pay want to not have 12 hour layovers? pay want to not feel like cattle? pay

it's because they can't comprehend not being catered to by the game industry. it's not a zero sum game but they see it that way (in their twisted "logic", dev budget didn't on "woke" is why xyz isn't as good etc.)

we can debate things like the meaning of life, or if aliens are out there. debating human rights is a bad faith argument that deserves a slap across the face.
comment in response to post
it's pure click bait using a bad faith argument to stir up engagement metrics if this was really about representation, I'd expect more outrage about not being able to play as a racist lying cheeto mockery of a human, but... I digress.

you flatter me 😂 there was no invitation, I just signed up and found myself in a pool with 31 of the world's best 😭

31 of the world's best and this one terrified looking player who just thought the game was fun and wanted to play 😄

i'm a dev but because i'm not leadership; you'll never see me on the stage or even remotely mentioned. nor will you ever hear about so many other people like me who aren't "the face". the "please wrap it up" is just so indicative of what the actual priorities are: advertising and money.

so weird right? turns out an algo designed to squeeze out engagement metrics which present well to a boardroom but make the actual users unhappy is a bad thing! who knew?! /s

i swear sometimes repro steps are: - start game - sacrifice goat, must be age 3 months and 7 days - stand on head for 7.2 seconds precisely - blink once - click mouse - bug happens

would having desynced/syncopated CDs across jobs fix this? i don't think so entirely -- people would still math out the optimal comps that lined up for the fight timers and then prefer those in progression settings. but it would give a lot more space to differentiate the jobs - which is needed /end
comment in response to post
add onto that you have jobs that have rather one dimensional resources and it leads to one optimal way to play the job -- which furthers the whole "tune to expect some understanding of optimal". it's a nasty little feedback loop in game design.
comment in response to post
this has further effects on encounter design where enrage timers are factored into relying on folks doing this window relatively well when running on week 1. it stifles both encounter and job design because everything is so reliant on the 2m window being well aligned for every job.
comment in response to post
there's kind of a schism in 14's design right now where there's pretty much one "best" way to play each job and everything aligns to the 2m burst. however, this ends up meaning everyone is beholden to that burst window because having things not line up to it is a big detriment.

i kind of hope they will use this to springboard the revamps for the job skills -- right now almost every job is experiencing massive skill bloat and a lot of resources are one dimensional (i.e. SCH has a fairy gauge but it only has ONE spender and half the time people forget to use it)
