the etiquette of cinema watchers has dropped beyond gutters and waste.. this is why I tend to go in the early mornings in the hope to avoid a crowd of any sort.. so much for the community experience 🤨

Indeed. Working in development for some years, these things were evident, but with stacks that would be my responsibility, rarely would any grab me by even page 10 — so that combined with empathy made me want to give them a chance.
The other side of this is good neat work looks so deceptively easy.

The writing is so elegant, I envy when it looks so simple, but as a writer you know how much it takes to appear that way.. Loved it.

Been there, for years. A manager should be aware and handling this. Mine was not.
It’s a trap. I got clarity after I quit.
If you *help*, that’s more work for you.. but it gets done. Corporate wins.
Managers only confront such problem (people) when results show failure and they risk heat for it.

The new cast for younger versions of characters we know well are pretty impressive too.
A couple of small gripes:
- Gibson smirks and smiles too much
- Slater in the flashbacks looks weird, like they’ve leaned into AI 🤖

There is no clear identification character. There seem to be scenes that beg for empathy for both of them, but on a surface level.
And that laziness in characterisation trickles down to every other aspect of the film too.
Bland scenes, bland dialogue..
No taste, just a total waste.

If I were to guess, this probably was a project with Dennis Hopper in the lead initially. Once Passenger 57 became a success, the stock of Wesley Snipes must have shot up and they would have decided to make his character a parallel lead.
That, or worse, this was always intended as parallel leads.

I know someone who casts dead actors from the ole days, so that he doesn’t get caught too 🥸

Sounds fun, actually. I’ll get to it after Black Doves, which I’m now halfway through and thoroughly enjoying. :)
I’d be keen to quiz you on how you approached this in terms of the past and present stories, which came first, (my hunch would be present) and how you decided on when to tell what.

This is what I need in life to find spirituality. Spirit powers! Then I'll giggle and take down all the noise pollution regulation offenders with my mad skills.

Do we admit to the later ones? I still refer to Die Hard as one of the best trilogies of our generation. 😇
