I was really enjoying the new Alone in the Dark game (even if the stealth mechanics were only really set up properly like 2 times, all other monster encounters you're basically forced to do combat), and then the game's ending was just a mess... Maybe I should have played as Carnby instead?

Uzumaki was a hell of a ride. This was my second of Ito's work I've read after Enigma of Amigara Fault a few years ago. The first 4 chapters were super creepy, but then the next 7 or 8 middle chapters felt a little silly. But it finished really strong. Def not for the squeamish or faint of heart.

There are SO many cool games that have just been kinda forgotten. Did you know that Insomniac - yes, the Ratchet & Clank and Spider-Man mega-studio - made an underwater metroidvania? It's still on Steam even now. The last time it was discounted was 2020, which is why its visibility remains abyssal.

Finished Echoes of Wisdom. I really enjoyed it. Unsurprisingly it felt very much like Link's Awakening but MORE and the echo mechanic was pretty interesting and made for some cool puzzles. Strong recommend for anyone with a Switch.

I also did see Wolf Man, but that one was just alright. Julia Garner's character felt very undercooked which makes the last half of the movie fall apart. The whole spider scene was super cool though.

It's crazy how hard people are pushing an all-is-lost narrative about our government, climate change, what have you. All I feel is more inoculated to his "look over there" tricks, more sensitive to what's needed and by whom, and more focused on what I can do as a small part of a greater whole.
