All the good feelings of seeing those people standing out there together really makes up for everything the trans community has already lost. Keep your chin up! Your rights are rapidly eroding but there are few thousand people willing to take a short walk in the cold for our sake!
Maybe it's my ideology but I can't comprehend hating queer or trans people. Like what have they done to you? It's sometimes the opposite, often very fragile people that need our support. Like stop killing gay men, it's like killing someone for having black hair. Nothing that can justify the hate.
There's a bit of a feedback loop here where if someone with a grudge ends up dealing with a queer person who pushes back at all, the grudge will likely be reinforced in some way. (This doesn't mean not to stick up for yourself, as even if you don't the grudge will still probably deepen anyhow)
have you ever seen a guy get really defensive about a criticism of their manliness, or even just a perceived lapse that nobody actually criticized? exact same reflex, except even stronger because someone's saying the line they're so desperately defending isn't real, not just that they've crossed it.
obviously doesn't justify it but it helps to understand how deep it runs, and that a lot of mild discomfort and sometimes even superficial/conditional support ultimately comes from the same place
It's simple, just look at the world as a misogynist. If you believe men should inherently rule and women exist to make and raise babies, trans people are an aberration. We upend the natural order by questioning the dynamic.
I wont pretend that i get the trans experience but i saw a study that said if we just gave gender affirming care the suicide rate drops to be basically in line with other groups and that's all i need to know to say "trans rights are human rights"
Can't imagine how it feels to be born in the wrong body. It must be a huge physical/mental hurricane with people saying you're exaggerating. I'm not the most tolerant person, and I want to improve that, but you don't have to be a genius to see a young person slowly 'fading into' the oppsite gender.
I mean I'm outside everyday and I see the looks on people's faces, it's not just social media comments sections its real life. Transphobic people are everywhere, don't drop your guard stay vigilant
Ngl I don’t think he was right about the nukes being a paper tiger, I think the long lasting effects of radiation have more than proved their potential devastation .
Another great example would be the London riots from last year, media made it seem like the fuckin' nazis were popular, counter-protestants were more than double the amount than the nazi fucks. Same as most right wing demonstrations, there are ussualy double or more leftists
With all the respect and love my heart can still muster: Touch Grass.
The Internet may as well be a different universe the way it emboldens and amplifies everything that makes specifically you upset.
Something I've learned is that most hate and discrimination online come from either edgy teens or basement 4chan users with a vitamin D deficiency. When we go live our lives in the real world we realize most people don't really care, and either give support or mind their own business
Interesting that nobody sees this. We're definitely being manipulated by media and fear.
Thank you so, so much for posting this. My gson is trans, 12, and luckily in a blue state but yeah, there's real fear. I love seeing this level of support. 💙🤍💗🤍💙
Right. I stop myself from posting things like this for fear I will seem like I'm minimizing. But even the Republican bigots I know really only think about trans issues re high school sports and don't give much of a fuck otherwise. The policy consequences are deadly, but the catalysts are small.
I always want to go to these but never find out about them until after they happened. How do potentially hundreds of people always seem to be in the loop about these events??
If the country supported trans kids the country wouldn't have spent the past decade watching them be killed and tirtured by the state either cheering or saying platitudes and then doing nothing to stop it.
Seriously all the marching is nice I guess but if it doesn't actually translate to people physically stopping the state from banning healthcare they need, taking them from good homes, keeping/putting them in abusive ones, and letting them die in the streets it's not worth anything.
Only 76m people voted for Trump. There's 347m people in the US. 78m are children. Out of the remaining 268.7m, 162m are registered to vote. Only about 140m voted. Republicans, that is, FASCIST SHITLICKERS, are only 1/5th of the country. Never EVER buy the propaganda that they're half the country.
building community and getting my hands involved in uplifting queer and trans people has given me so, so much hope. there are so many good and loving people in the world that are 10 toes down for us.

We've been illegal before, it didn't make us go away.
But yeah, they're not a majority by a large margin.
