It’s hard to believe we’re the same country that made Jimmy Carter give up his peanut farm when he became President. Those were the days. thehill.com/opinion/whit...

When I wrote that I was voting for Harris, two of the factors that pushed me from voting third party to voting Harris were Trump's attacks on the rule of law and his reckless position on Ukraine. Harris was right on those issues, and Trump was very wrong. Feeling pretty vindicated right now.

Is this really who we have become? www.telegraph.co.uk/business/202...

Fact check: nearly 70 percent of US money for Ukraine actually went to US defense industry to replenish the stocks of OLD stuff that went to Ukraine to use. Much of which we would have paid to destroy as their lifespan expired.

Readers added context.

It is hard to believe that, in less than a month, we went from Lloyd Austin to Pete Hegseth.

I'm sure the fact that this new "senior adviser" was fired from his last job (internship) for leaking sensitive company secrets to a competitor is nothing to worry about. What could possibly go wrong?

It looks like they're going to need to change the official mission statement for the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy, as it doesn't seem to be a good fit with the new hire.

Oh, I understand the pain inflicted by tariffs quite well. What I don't understand is WHY we are doing it in the first place.

Compared with any other major country, the United States has been extremely fortunate in its two immediate neighbors, Canada and Mexico. Now, incredibly, it is declaring economic war on both of them. This is a war no one can win, and from which tens of millions will lose. This is insanity.

This image will show up in social science textbooks someday.

If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have profoundly misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Because cruelty is the point. These were LEGAL refugees that spent years following the rules to get here (and include those who risked everything to help us in Afghanistan). Shameful. apnews.com/article/refu...

The whole DOGE thing is working just as planned, I see. I feel more efficient already.

Prediction: Trump conditions US withdrawal from NATO on whether or not Denmark agrees to his demands for Greenland.

Just wait until Trump's tariff war starts... these will seem like the good ole' days for US farmers. www.wsj.com/business/ame...

It is remarkable that, in the last week, a news organization (ABC) paid a Trump ransom, leading to another news org (DSM Register) being extorted by Trump. Then the GOP Congress referred Liz Cheney to DOJ for absurd criminal prosecution. And it's not even 2025 yet. variety.com/2024/tv/news...

Mitt Romney was the president we needed, but didn’t deserve. Donald Trump was the president we deserved, but didn’t need. And now we get a bonus round.

Maybe Tulsi Gabbard can let Assad stay at her house, since they are pals.

Now you too can experience the intoxicating aroma of the sweaty, 78 year old spray-tanned King of Grift this holiday season.

And a reminder what a ridiculous planet we've landed on that we're even talking about a Fox morning host as SECDEF

I think I may have stumbled upon the greatest bargain in human history at IKEA.

This belongs in an art museum - in the Great Judicial Artists of the 21st Century wing…. sponsored, of course, by Four Seasons Total Landscaping.

Never in my wildest pre-2016 dreams did I imagine worrying about a “Republican” administration trying to significantly harm our small business. But here we are, living in the upside-down. www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...
