Privatization would mean billing problems, competition for scarce care options in private sector, and less-compassionate care. How many private providers give a full hour for annual physical? I’ve always received thorough checkups that, far from being wastes of time, help prevent later problems.

This will accelerate their long-time goal of privatization of the VA. Cripple the VA then privatization becomes a “genius” solution. Privatization is NOT the best route for veteran care.

I was listening to my local NPR station a half hour after this debacle, and the hosts discarded their planned topic to discuss it. One woman called in with a perfect reaction, saying “I’ve never been so proud of a president before.” The hosts were dumbfounded until she clarified she meant Zelenskyy!

Don’t just say DEI as if it’s a bad word. Spell it out. Say diversity, which is the lifeblood of American society & culture & innovation. Say equity, which a just society should pursue. Say inclusion, because decent people believe in increasing belonging, not isolating people who are different.
