Complicated but genuinely good heroes are tough to write. I dig that Vince Gilligan is advocating for these kinds of characters. Villains are fun but it's easier to burn things down than to build them up in fiction. And heroes aren't necessarily upholding the status quo. Get to it, writers.

Revisiting Karate Kid rip offs, I’m reminded of Sidekicks. Not a good movie, but it does have Mako. No shock but MAKO rules in Sidekicks. One of the best Miyagi-clones. Hell if Pat Morita didn't play Miyagi (a reality l don't want to live in.) Mako would have been amazing in the role.

From a show I genuinely thought was a terrible idea to me considering it one of the best legacy sequels, #cobrakai ends on a crowd-pleasing finale. I loved this six-season deep dive journey of transforming 2-dimensional bully characters into fully developed characters you grow to love.

#LoveHurts So it pains me to say this… it didn’t live up to my expectations. Tell not show storytelling, underdeveloped characters, lack of chemistry between cast members all hurt the film. That said, QUAN is exceptional in it, the action is great and the directing was fun.
