Something I do appreciate about your posts here and elsewhere is that you offer solutions as opposed to just complaining. Even when I don’t agree with them, or think they might only be partially workable, it’s really refreshing to see someone put forth ideas and back them up with links to evidence.

Love this trilogy, I didn’t think even think of it as grimdark so kudos on slipping that by me. Add it to the list of things I usually don’t care for in fantasy that these three books do exceptionally well.

Ugh. Great take. What’s next? “Bluesky is just Twitter for liberals”?

As someone who moved from Northeast Pennsylvania to South Carolina about three years ago I can tell you that none of this is true. Southern food is mostly garbage and the drivers here can’t handle a gentle curve on the sunniest day. Everything closes when it snows or people just die driving.

I want to see you, just once, tell one of these clowns to eat shit. And I don’t mean metaphorically, I don’t mean with a classy, intelligent takedown that will go over most of their heads. I mean just “Ugh, eat shit, Don, you fucking gonk.” Sure, it won’t solve anything but I’ll enjoy it.

I also love that I can choose how I engage with the game. If I want to just shit my brain off and wander around I can. If I want to lore dump I can. If I want to become the werewolf master of the magical school in an afternoon I can do that too.

I did not expect to love the Thorns trilogy as much as I did. It ticks very few of my usual boxes but damn does it deliver on every level and it, bonus, introduced me to one of my now-favorite authors.

I’ve never thought of it that way and, yeah, that’s gonna change how I approach tough days now.
