I don't understand the shift to "Transgender for everybody and men playing in women's sports." What does any of that have to do with immigration?

It's really limited to "in a coma in a hospital" type of situation. Vance would have to start the process, a majority of the Principals (Cabinet plus a couple others would have to agree), and then Congress would need to agree. Impeachment is actually easier.

I think they can, provided they want to.

We have Ted Cruz in contention for that. And then there's Tommy Tuberville, Josh Hawley, Marsha Blackburn, Ron Johnson, Joni Ernst, and others.

My favorite assessment so far is: "The soldiers ambled along as if they were Hegseth performing a sobriety test."

Depends on the display. Some regimes know how to do it. It helps to have a huge open plaza or square and to send them as a group. One lone squeaking vehicle after another is a weak alternative.

Anyone who has knowledge of the history of immigration in this country. From the days of the "braceros" in the 40s and 50s to date, farmers and growers have consistently pushed back on political efforts to eliminate their workforce.

I like to mention that: In 2020, Biden received more votes in California than in any other state. No surprise there. Question: Which state was second in the number of votes cast for Biden? Answer: Texas We edged New York by about 18,000 votes.

If Trump's involved with a project, it's going to cost too much and produce minimal results.

Infant mortality was extremely high. If a couple of children made it to adulthood after surviving all the childhood diseases, a family was doing well. It's remarkable how so many old graveyards have lots of little headstones.

Demonstrated that, as usual, Trump is a lifelong fuckup. Images matter, and for Trump, the optics were terrible. It mattered but not in the way he dreamed of.

Going into a neighborhood like South Central LA to find guys with rap sheets is hard. It's a lot easier to fill those quotas by going to parks to pick off nannies looking after children.

If they're that determined to work as a part of the nation's workforce, we should find a way to accommodate their initiative.

There was a huge LAPD corruption scandal in the 90s involving the "CRASH" unit. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rampart...

I once challenged a bookcase picture's owner with "Why not alpha by author?" The response rightfully put me in my place: "Because they're chronological by publication date."

That's embarrassing.

And that's precisely what Trump was dreaming of. He saw a Bastille Day Parade a few years ago and nearly made a mess in his pants as it went by. Meanwhile, Paris is the world's capital for revolutions. Can't compete with that legacy.

The Red Army of the CCCP (USSR) did May Day parades with flair.

Lot of empty seats. He saw a big show the French put on for Bastille Day and dreamed of something like that. Doesn't look like he got it. I was too busy being with thousands of people at the Capitol in Austin celebrating Flag Day.

Snow White in nicely tailored fatigues. carrying a bazooka .. I might pay attention to that. Aurora would drive a tank. Belle would be Intelligence. Cinderella: helicopter pilot. Ariel is easily a Marine. Pocahontas: Special Forces. Jasmine would be a fighter pilot. Mulan - Space Force. Etc.

They have real jobs to do. They're a professional outfit. That doesn't work with his narcissistic agenda.

But there for a number of years, both Mussolini and Hitler were wildly popular. Their crowds were huge and enthusiastic. Trump can only wish for something like that.

Will he be advocating the use of leeches to bleed bad humors out of those who are ill?

One of the challenges for that in Texas is that many of our prisons (we have a lot of them) are already farms. The Department of Criminal Justice likes to talk about how the operation is largely self-sufficient. They not only grow food. They also have cotton farms and make clothes.

I count on Trump and his people screwing things up. The ultimate saving grace may be that they are not very smart, nor are they competent. A consistent theme of Trump's career is that he's been big on talk and weak on results. Of Still, the damage will be huge.
