This was a warm up doodle between comic pages, many little lost doodles hide between those layer files

Once she realizes I posted these publicly on the internet, she’ll probably get really pissed off and will end up kicking my ass and throw me around the house for awhile. Home life will be stressful and difficult for a few weeks, but at least I got a few decent shots

The problem is, when an animal has such intense Softness-Levels, especailly at this high on the meter, it can be difficult to stop petting, entire afternoons even. I’m sorry Annabelle, I know you were trying to sleep and are now annoyed, I know you will probably smack me later, but I don’t care

Annabelle is a pear-shaped animal with intense cosmic vibrations, just stay on her good side and you’ll be fine, or else!

I wish I could relax this hard. Your house-animal can also be a great teacher, a great master, we must pay attention to their teachings to achieve such peace. Then we must reward them with an tender and artful pat of mindfulness for their insight

I love them all, especially on how soft and proud they look and all their little worlds and specialities they each have. Plus your style is very unique and interesting and even sci-fi looking. I like too how organic and geometric your worlds are

When I write comic ideas I also like just using paper or an actual typewriter recently as it forces/ helps me focus, but then if I need to refine it I can literally just use my iPad to scan the text and it coverts it into a text document instantly, so I can still edit digitally if I need to

I feel that technique seems to give me the best of both worlds of working traditionally and digitally especially for comics as I’m always editing panel sequences

I like this method too sometimes, especially if you are struggling with a complex composition and it’s way easier to move, edit and resize your drawings digitally, but I still missed my original art and inks, so just printing them out and using a lightbox to ink over them.

It’s very meditative, although I’ll ink digitally too sometimes as it also has it’s own feel and I’m not against it, especially with animation, but I still prefer ink with illustrations and comics, even in this modern era
