Being pardoned doesn't protect you from stupidity.

A view of Alhambra, Granada

Beware of the cats. Granada, Spain (on the way to the Viewpoint of St. Nicholas)

I wonder if anyone in Africa is walking round smelling of Lynx Middlesbrough.

Just imagine.

🚨 "Ministers have rejected calls for the UK to move closer to the EU in order to boost economic growth, insisting that Brexit has brought “opportunities” and some benefits for the British economy.” Imagine the shock when they see this

Celtic v YB Berne

The search for Nigel Farage in Clacton enters its 27th week.

This is brilliant!! 😂✊🏼

It's been quite something to watch supposedly 'patriotic' British newspapers actively cheerleading on a foreign administration that is openly working against our interests.

Listening to Green Day BBC Sessions (vinyl). Double album - a side per year - 1994, 1996, 1998, 2001. A few thoughts - BBC recordings are good quality, the album lives up to the high standard. The songs are good, short, and punchy. Seen them live - good apart from "I want you to" chant along rubbish

Nothing says 'the continued relevance of monarchy' quite like a billionaire, English, unelected king, dressed up as a Scottish laird, turning up at a food bank in a helicopter

Oh what a surprise! Another ‘the NHS is rubbish we must scrap this model of healthcare’ article. There’s nothing wrong with the NHS’s model. What’s wrong is that politicians have decimated the service and are now trying to convince us it’s the NHS’s fault. conservativehome.com/2025/01/16/o...

The pitch from right wing politicians that the UK needs to leave the ECHR is based on a wholly misleading premise yet many are now being taken in by it. Let’s make sure everyone understands the actual facts. Leaving the ECHR will undermine all our rights

Spain is planning a 100% tax on properties bought by foreign nationals who don't pay tax in Spain. It is expected to raise up to $12bn a year. This is exactly what the UK needs.

Listening to the first two albums by Teenage Fanclub. They weren't my cup of tea first time round, so I'd never listened to an album. I bought a set of the first 5 CDs for £15 - worth a listen at that price. I quite like the harmonies and swirling guitars on these.

89% of the UK want to Rejoin the Single Market, and that includes anyone who does or ever would vote Labour. Ignore the whiny billionaire Media, and do it.

Listening to a mix of YT music recommendedatuons based upon my previous listening. It's no surprise that Echo & the Bunnymen are on it - Lips like sugar - a great track from the 5th album. I always felt albums 1, 2 & 4 were my favourites, but Lips like sugar is up there with their best, IMO

The government is proposing a 2.8% pay rise in 2024/2025 for NHS workers We are losing staff to the private sector and emigration to better paid systems We need a forward thinking approach to begin to address the real terms wage losses or staff will continue to leave

Why do high-profile child-abuse cases involving elites escape scrutiny? As debate swirls around ‘grooming gangs’, Peter Thurlow looks into systemic bias, selective justice and bandwagon-jumping politicians.

Hundreds of Mexican firefighters have arrived in Southern California to help combat the wildfires. Thank you, Mexico🇺🇸🇲🇽

Rocky Bushiri in that Hibs v Rangers match today - great in the opposition box but the Hibs fans must have thought all their team's efforts were for nothing with that inexplicable failure to clear the ball in the closing minutes. Boyle was M of Match, in my opinion - entertaining game too.

4 years of this stupid sh*t.

Suella Braverman has "seen the wall on the land border between Italy and Turkey..." Gosh I think she's been visited by more right wing fairies Minor detail - Italy and Turkey don't have a land border!!! God these right wingers are doing my head in It's like debating with stroppy 5 year olds

Maybe I should make it my New Year resolution to try listening to some music on Bandcamp. I do Spotify a little if I'm travelling, although, generally, I'm more into listening on vinyl or CD as I like to keep those. Roll on January, though, new sounds in my ear.

This needs to be taken very seriously. All donations that originate from abroad, no matter who is the final donor, should be banned. Only UK citizens should be allowed to donate to British political organisations

A bit chilly today but Prague is beautiful in any weather

If the UK gets Private Health Insurance it will be as bad as in the USA. Because it is all the same US Companies pushing it in the UK.

You know this whole ‘tough choices’ thing from politicians? I think if they put the wellbeing of the public first, there wouldn’t be any tough choices. The choices would be clear. No close links to corporations. No low taxes for extremely wealthy people. End privatisation. Tackle climate crisis.

Sounds like a plan www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/aus...

CDs today, live in Edinburgh this evening. HUP

Kate Middleton has apparently stopped 'working full time'. It seems no one told her that you have to start working before you can stop.

"That is why I do not believe that the likes of Nigel Farage can simply be ‘ignored’ and not given the ‘oxygen’ of a platform. "What he says and does should be rigorously scrutinised and taken seriously" bylinetimes.com/2024/12/02/t...
