Old chap. mostly here to post photos but might occasionally stray into politics (apologies, I just can't help myself!).
I'm a long term Pentax SLR/dSLR user and currently have a couple of K3s. One with a 70-200mm and the other with a 17-50mm

Nearby is a stone circle from 2,500BCE known, for obvious reasons, as the "King's Men" and a dolmen from 3,500BCE "The Whispering Knights".
It's said that if you count the stones in the circle, and then count them again, you get a different number. Having visited the circle many times - it's true!

The legend - A local king and his men were in the Cotswolds. A witch said to the king:
“Seven long strides shalt thou take and if Long Compton thou canst see, King of England thou shalt be”
The king knew he would be able to see the village, but the witch raised a mound and turned the king into stone

A truly astonishing capture! Definitely worthy of some sort of award.
I have to admit, I am soooooo envious

I wonder whether his supporters know or even care that the orange one's mother was an unskilled immigrant or that his brothel-keeping paternal grandfather and his wife were also both immigrants. But I suppose the important thing is that these immigrants were white.

I'm biased as I adore photos of anything and everything beyond our thin atmosphere. And as much as I am in awe of what Webb captures, my heart still favours Hubble.

I love facts that these but have to admit that my poor old brain really cannot understand numbers that large. Same as some of the numbers quoted re big bang, things like stuff that happened at 0.00000000000000000000000000000001 of a second. See also data in quantum mechanics 🤯

I've many happy memories of exploring many of the lakes but my favourite is Wast Water / #Wastwater. My wife suspects it's because dark and moody (altho' I think the word "gloomy" might have passed her lips - an adjective that she has applied to me on occasion!)

According to the photographer, Ethan Russell, this is the actual last photo taken of the Beatles.
I can't find the interview at the moment but he said that after the photos taken inside at the table, ER said he had a few shots left on the roll of film and he could take a few outside to finish off.
