Who said anything about off shore accounts? My comment was about elderly care facilities. I work in real estate and have seen this happen to several elderly on fixed incomes, property taxes and homeowners go up and they can no longer afford to stay in their home. This isn’t an excuse.

A thread popped up on Facebook yesterday (in response to a news article about care facilities) that made me not want to ever have to depend on an elderly care facility. The entire thread was employees (nurses and aids) ridiculing the elderly residents. It was an appalling thread.

That is a staggering number of deaths in only 5 months. And sadly, because most of them are happening in impoverished countries, citizens of the U.S. don’t know about the deaths or they don’t care.

I’m guessing she has fallen behind on property taxes. Home is probably paid for and she can’t keep up with property taxes and homeowner’s insurance. In many areas of the U.S. these two expenses have really gone up, which would be hard on people with fixed incomes.

I recently heard about this strain from a friend. A photography client also recently had Covid and became very ill with pneumonia. His recovery has been slow. It’s still out there, mutating and making people sick.

I get it, I have a dog that is on a special prescription liver diet and I can only buy it online, local vets and pet stores don’t carry it. Have you checked Chewy for the cat food? They carry just about everything pet related.
