I don't remember it all that well. I remember the cartoon a bit better. Basically the gist of it was four mutated turtles named after Renaissance artists adopted by a giant rat that knew martial arts. The quartet really liked pizza and Michaelangelo said "Cowabunga!" a lot.

That's a really good comparison—I read Jurassic Park a few years ago and both novels are so immersive that it's easy to suspend disbelief ☺️
I'm interested to see what you think of the Priory novel that you mentioned—I have eyeballed it a few times, but haven't picked one up yet.
