Fortunately the industry has learn this lesson, and no one is investing millions of dollars into a new technology to make game AI "smarter than ever!"

The first two Elder Scrolls games advertise a whole bunch of fake features in their game manual. For example, Arena claims you can walk between cities, it just takes tens of hours! To this day, people refuse to play these games and directly post claims from the manual on UESP instead

How's your Bond Move and 007 tokens collection? I was more obsessed with finding all of these as a kid lol

Reminds me of trying to play my Gamecube games on the Wii, and having to get up to pull out the Wiimote just for the "press A to start" screen on the OS menu

The point about the radio edit blew my mind about our vision of the past. Turns out the common assumption that everyone just spoke in euphemisms and clinical language is a bias from how academics choose to translate vulgarity

As someone who had to take a bit of a break on my War of the Lions playthrough on my PSP, I absolutely understand the necessity for this lol. It took me a few days of reading to get back in

I think it's at its worst nowadays with games that let you mod 2d images (ex: CRPG portraits), because everyone thinks it's appropriate to dump their thousands of nsfw anime genAI output on Nexusmods

I feel like after we've gone through the fads of "enemies are from a country at war with the US" and the following "enemies are zombies", this is just the latest fad of "flexible enemy design space that won't get us yelled at for being insensitive or boring"

We do have an Ontario studio now! But we did meet at a Montréal meetup on some downtown rooftop 😛 (and again at a virtual remote conference)

Given how clothing works in this game, I'm honestly surprised they can't wear armored boots on top of shoes.
I think I'd just compromise and make leather boots the universal standard for civilian and military

My fiancée being natively anglophone (but pretty solid in French), I'm surprised about the half part. Often us francophones are too impatient to deal with someone who needs any time understanding, and switch to full English until they leave the room. Good on them!

Is that a v50 issue? I know the military took a bunch of regressions, both in UI and just weird ownership issues. I actually liked the fullscreen ASCII menu, I'd make custom schedules and squad rotations, civilian burrows, custom alerts, etc

Yo that's sick. Hope it can take off, casual games can randomly blow up with the right exposure at the right time. I need a new game with Québec vibes after playing Été last year

In university, I would go all the way and implement a 4th order Runge-Kutta method (RK4) for game physics lol. I think this form of integration in the image is still assuming acceleration (2nd order) is constant, but I guess it rarely changes that much for game precision purposes

From the wiki summary, it does mention Cotillion specifically with a rope against four mages, in a courtyard. Seems pretty clear to me

That's on Drift Avalii with the throne? I always pictured those as outdoor or at least open ruins, but it's been a while. The Seven Cities side plots all blend in together in the mind

I would have definitely liked a Karsa Orlong artwork. While those books are very packed, Karsa does take up at least 30% of it.
It seems each book is going to have its identifiable color theme, which is neat in its own way. I can't wait to see the next parts of the print on the pages on my shelf

Normally I'd be "every generation needs to experience the original Dark Souls 2 run to the Ancient Dragon", but at least the Ancient Dragon was one optional boss at the end of a game, not the core loop
